Thank you so much. I've just recently upgraded from 22.04 LTS to 24.04 and noticed the time discrepancy every time I switched between OS's (I also run Windows 10 on the same PC): I thought my BIOS CMOS battery was dying which seemed odd since I had just put in a new one a few months back. For whatever reason, I didn't experience the problem with Ubuntu 22.04LTS. It only started after I upgraded to 24.04, but your solution resolved the problem nonetheless. So thank you again.
Thankyou. I thought something was up with my motherboard but this did the trick. I am able to switch from Kubuntu to Windows 10 with no time issues. For me it is really important to have right time cause for development the http requests are validated somehow to not send request in the future or in past to bypass subscription plan I am guessing
i need help this worked for me but there is another issue i am facing it isnt showing me correct batttery percentage like 3 percent even though its charging tried restarting it but still didnt work
do you have any idea how disturbing it is to look down at your pc's clock and have it say 9pm when you look outside and it's still light out you're like "did i just pass out er smthing"?
You can try using the Chris Titus Windows Utility to have it set your Windows to UTC time with the click of a button so it works seamlessly between boots.

Fun fact: The way you pronounce the first and last "U" in Ubuntu is also how you pronounce the second "U" in Ubuntu
And "timedatectl set-local-rtc 0 --adjust-system-clock" to revert?
Thnaks, but it didn't work for me... windows time doesn't refresh, it keeps loading.
When you switch "Set time atomatically" off, you'll be able to set the date and time manually.
