Needle Felt - Painting with Wool - Recreating 'The Great Wave'

  • Welcome to Dano Does Things, a place to learn, have fun, and do something creative every week!
    This week I am attempting to recreate a painting (well, technically a wood block) called 'The Great Wave' by the artist Hokusai, done back in the 1800s. But of course I am doing it entirely in wool using needle felting, or needle painting, techniques!
    I really love how this one turned out, so please enjoy!

    This so fabulous. It’s my favourite painting. How long did it take you in real time? I’m thinking it would look great on the flap of a messenger bag.
