I teach martial arts, and one of my more dedicated young students was doing his push-ups, pull-ups, and sit-ups at recess. He was teased by kids that he could, and would have easily beat in a physical confrontation if he wasn't the disciplined young man he is. When the teasing failed to break his spirit, they told a teacher on him. He was accused of being a "show off" by this woman, and was forced to stop his extra, voluntary workouts. Rather than sacrifice his love of Jiu Jitsu, he now stays inside during recess and completes his work outs alone. Thanks Casey for pointing out the envy that unfortunately discourages some young people. Envy disguised as disdain. I'll make sure that he sees this video if he hasn't already. Cheers, Casey

This is amazing. Kids can be so cruel. It breaks my heart when my kids get made fun of...and yes it happens often. They don't announce they have autism and not many kids are aware and understand they're being different is just that. Parents teaching your kids to respect others is going to have such an impact on the future. 💙💙💙

This is the blog I needed when I was in secondary school (from England folks 😂) because I was always tormented for singing, for writing poetry, short stores and they took the joy from me because they made me think this is never gna happen. But about 5 years later, im becoming better with my camerawork and photography, im writing a ton more and enjoying every second of the processes and gaining more and more appreciation of the craft and processes.

This is such a common issue, people joke around with me and my channel and i don't mind. But i can certainly see how others could be having a hard time. I've had several people DM me and ask how they deal with it, and i try my best to help. Good work putting it out there Casey, keep it up.
Haters will always be out there . Remember that they don't matter in life and can't control what you do, the cheeky f***ers. Build upon your dreams and have determination and eventually you will be laughing at the haters. This is how Casey did it and goes on to be an inspiration.

The same thing happened to me. I used to run a channel, but the bullying at school got really really bad once I started high school. The harassment online and in person became so bad, police came into subject. I run this channel now with a couple random videos in secret, but I'm scared to start vlogging again and making videos I like, where I talk and share stuff I love. I'm just terrified the harassment will get really bad again, and I don't know how to deal with that. I don't know how to persevere when I feel unsafe every day at school...
For now, I'll just watch your videos. You constantly inspire me, thank you for all the amazing content you've made Casey.

I'm not 12 or 13, but I find this message useful. There will always be doubters and haters, and it is unfortunate that those people are my parents. I'm too broke to even afford a second-hand car, and just recently got rejected from a nursing school. My father was angry at me that I spent more time thinking up a song to cover for my video than doing medical related study. "You didn't do music when you were a kid, and you have ZERO talent. Don't think so highly of yourself. Nursing career is the best career you can settle with, or else you can sell fruits on the street." He has repeated that many times, and instead of teasing, it was more of a discouraging tone. I didn't ask for their support for me to go 100% RUclips, I was just doing it between the gap while waiting for the next school's acceptance/rejection result, but it seems like every minute I spend doing anything other than nursing triggered him to slam all the negativity on me. This is a message I need, especially now, thank you so much Casey.
I enjoy all your videos but this one was AWESOME! That you person getting teased for doing something instead of sitting around is awesome to. The encouragement you gave will be the difference in stopping because of peer pressure and going for it. Good for you.

I'll be honest with you Casey. A couple of years back I too made a simple vlog as a kid. I remember hundreds of my school "friends" saving the video and sharing it around, all while laughing at me. I felt so embarrassed. And Now I see the same "friends" come up to me on the street congratulating me, telling me to "keep it up".

Just keep at it. School and especially high school is where the majority of people strive to be average. The real world doesn't reward sameness or mediocrity, just keep doing you. Once you're out of high school you'll see that the people making fun of your friends end up nowhere in life and look back on high school as the best time in their life (which is honestly pathetic). It's the people who take risks to get to where they want to be that actually reach success.

I started making video's a year ago, and because of that I got bullied quite bad. I was already in the 'loser' position in the class but I did nothing. I'm quiet and shy, so I was always their target. After a few weeks it was so bad that I deleted everything. I still am mad about it. Those dumb persons don't know what their words can do to a person and what they love. So before you say anything about anybody, think twice please!

i used to start making videos back in 2013 (4 yrs) and i only kept my channel secret (except my friends) when i got to high school, people found out about my channel, they carried on making fun and playing my videos and still the older kids still make fun, i try to ignore it or just make it into a positive but i keep on getting back to stage one. but i carry on going, tryna go strong and hopefully, one day i can show whoever told me i couldn't do something wrong, i follow my dream, and everyone else should to, do what makes you happy and do whatever you can to make you happy at the same time, thanks for reading.
I can atest to this, even being a small RUclipsr from South Africa, SA is not a country that is used to vloggers and so its something that's frowned upon because the haters have lack of understanding. Every time I feel discouraged I'm going to watch this, thank you Casey!
