2019 Volvo VNL 760 hood Latch will NOT release

What I did to fix a hood latch that would not release

Should be a recall all the trucks at work are like this and drivers cant do a pretrip inspection. The old style hood latch was better.

I have 2020 vnl 760 , I tried to open it manually with pressing the plastic under hood and putting my hand there , so passenger side opened but driver side stuck.

Hi, how were you able to release it before fixing it? I am having trouble releasing the left side of the hood

Jennifer Reyes you have to remove 2 bolts holding the inside fender guard off and then pry that back. You can then reach your hand up and push that plastic piece inwards as you apply a small amount of downward pressure to the hood.

I didnt opened that plastic guard, but I pressed that plastic hard and was able to reach their but it worked on passenger side but driver side looks like stuck
