    High school students in Japan also talk loudly. There isn't much difference. It is common worldwide. Contrary to your experience, many foreigners say that Koreans are quiet in indoor public places. And, In Korea, about 90% of middle and high school students wear school uniforms.There are times when they wear pe clothes instead of school uniforms.

    I see that Seol is South of Europe. North of Africa. That is why it is so warm

      It is so warm in the summer and super cold in the winter. I think the best time to visit Seoul is in the Spring but summer and winter are definitely not a good time to visit.

    The price of the Indian food was listed in big letters right on the poster. 12,900 won for the main dish plus rice, nan and salad etc. I've lived in Korea for 5 years and I've never seen a restaurant that didn't have a menu. Korea is not cheap compared to the SE Asian countries you mentioned and Japan because average per capita income is much higher for Koreans than the people of those countries. Especially in Seoul due to it being the capital mega city. Even many Koreans prefer to vacation at SE Asia and Japan over places in Korea because it's cheaper for them to do so.

      That makes sense. Thank you for the explanation. Regarding the meal prices, when I got inside the restaurant, the cheapest meal was about 20000 which is totally different from what they displayed outside. Now I learned a lesson. I always take a photo if they display a low price outside and then I show them the photo incase I don’t see the same price on the menu inside the restaurant.

      @@WandererBell It did also say "Lassi" was extra 2000 so maybe there was something else you ordered that was more. Korean businesses are very honest when it comes to prices and what not. It's not like some countries where they scam(lie to) the tourists out right. Having said that, the more touristy areas will be more expensive like every other country. I'm from the US and eating out in general is cheaper in Korea if you know where to go. Good luck and have fun.

    was the price reasonable for the Indian meal?

    • @WandererBell
      @WandererBell  14 дней назад +1

      It was 23,000 won, about $16.77. Finding good restaurants with reasonable prices is a challenging task when traveling in touristy cities.

    45 minutes by bus or subway is long ... probably can walk same? What kind of meal was $42?

    • @WandererBell
      @WandererBell  14 дней назад +1

      It is better to take a bus because it is easier than the subway. Walking will take longer, and it is tough to walk in the heat of the summer. The food was Korean, served in an overrated restaurant in a touristy area. I learned my lesson.

      @@WandererBell I stayed at the old Lotte hotel and walked to Gyeongbokgung Palace and then Bukchon Hanok Village.
      I found a restaurant and spent $25 for bbq beef on the way back in February...cooler weather. Hotels had toothbrush in mini bar of 5 star hotel.

      You visited Seoul in a better season. That must be a nice walk in Feb. The area outside that palace looks so nice at night especially the street from the city hall to the palace. At night they have music events. I started to like the city.
