And suddenly, out of nowhere . . . a beautiful grey horse! 😲 This place somehow manages to be moody, desolate, spooky, calming and touristy all at the same time. FYI, the Wikipedia page for Marken has some interesting background information about the town. Thanks for the tour Thomas! 😎

Using a DJI Pocket II, just a small camera but quite powerful camera with a handy gimbal :)

I love the Netherlands, but this is a serious question...how do the Dutch cope with having no scenery to look at? If you have hills, you always have something in the background/on the horizon. I know a lot of Dutch go on holiday abroad to France and germany, is this perhaps the reason?
They do have long distance views over water, which some people enjoy, and lots of interesting architecture. I grew up in the very flat US state of New Jersey, and just did not recognize how dull it was. Now I live surrounded by mountains in Arizona, which I much prefer. 😎
We have enormous skies and wide views. And when everything is flat, on 2 meters hight you can look amazingly far.

Town is the wrong word actually :) It's a tiny village. The light house road right is nice indeed, maybe in the future I'll do another walk. Are you from Cairo or Alexandria perhaps?
