    I got curious about life on a tugboat because I write music and stories for kids. We have a song about a Tugboat Captain (who makes music, of course), and his adventures at sea. I am trying to develop the character and publish more content about him, and your vids give a great view into life on the boat. Nice work.

    Did they throw that white mooring line when y’all were breaking tow or was that already on the deck? Great video man

    Is your tug based in Norfolk? I spent alot of time on the waters of Norfolk on R/V's for Old Dominion University, and the local wastewater authority. Great vids. Are you going for your mate's licenses?

    • @JakeFilarski
      @JakeFilarski  3 года назад

      The company is based in Norfolk but I rarely work there. I’m mostly in New York, and down south around Charleston and Florida. I currently hold a mates license but not exactly sure what the future holds for me at the moment.

      You'll be on a towboat deck hands on towboats generally work alot more on deck than a tugboat deck hands with constant tow work and all. I've decked on both and have been a Captain on both throughout the years. You'll know if you can do it after a few hitches and you'll know if you want to do it for a living after a year or so.
