In 1974 Ulf Christiansson gave his life to Christ and one year later he started the band Jerusalem together with Dan Tibell on keyboards, Danne Gansmoe on drums and Bertil Sörensson on bass.
Jerusalem was one of the first Christian Hard Rock bands in Sweden. About a year after their started they signed a record contract with the Swedish Christian record company PRIM, and in 1978 they released their first self titled album. Jerusalem received good reviews for their first album and quickly became the most popular band among the Christian youth in Sweden.

Before recording "Warrior" in 1981 bass player Anders Mossberg left the band and got replaced by Peter Carlsohn. With "Warrior" Jerusalem took a big step towards a more hard rock oriented style. In 1985 Jerusalem went on tour in America, bringing their message of Christ through Heavy Metal to both Christian and Non-Christian youth. In 1994 they went on a European tour with Petra and in 1995 Jerusalem played at the Cornerstone festival in America. In October 1995 Jerusalem celebrated their 20 years anniversary at the Gospel Globe festival in Stockholm.

One of my very favorite bands, with great music and uplifting, Christ-honoring lyrics!

    Now the party's over
    Everyone's gone home
Each one to his own world
    But you are left alone
    You tried to find someone
    Someone who really cared
    You're standing now in silence
With the burdens that you bear
    As evening falls once more
    You travel home alone
    Like many times before
The bitter wind of fear blows cold
    And slowly shuts your door
    Farewell, farewell
    Friends, they disappeared
    Took it as a game
But you're the one who's lost
And you must bear the pain
    Life has turned so cold
But where did it go wrong
    The road ahead is rough
And the journey seems so long
    As evening falls once more
    You travel home alone
    Like many times before
The bitter wind of fear blows cold
    And slowly shuts your door
    Farewell, farewell
Often have I thought, how it really feels
    'cos I get lonely too
So my heart goes out to you
    But all we ever feel
    It's not just ours alone
For he has been there too
And he lights the way back home
Then with Jesus, life begins anew
    And everything must change
Even if friends, they let you down
    His love always remains
    Farewell, farewell
    But we'll meet again

I have a Mastered Cassette of this Album, I've never played it and it is still mint. I would love to locate a Vinyl Pressing of every recording this Band released.

Asche zu Asche - Staub zu Staub... Wo kommst Du her? Hast Du Dir das Leben selber gegeben; konntest Du den Geburtsort auswählen? Wem
gehörst Du - wem gehört Dein Leben? Wohin gehst Du? Wie sieht Dein Ende aus? Was bleibt übrig, was hinterlässt Du?
Wo ist Salz zu finden, Licht
in der Dunkelheit, Halt und Orientierung im Chaos?

This song I've asked my family to play at my end. How many of us christians like the Israelites followed their God? YAHWAH took them to Sinia and spoke to them there and they said don't speak to us but to Moses. Now the Christians are the same way ,we'll listen to Paul ( Ravshal) but not you Yahshua. Religion or free people?
