Been listening to them since 1994. As a duo they've been the best in the business at what they do. When something important was happening in sports you tuned into these guys to get their take. Neither one was better without the other one there. Sports talk radio will never be the same. Bummer - will still listen to Mike on occasion but will miss the show as it was. Still hard to believe Dog's left.
Chris did not mislead the fans. Think for a second, usually, when an employee puts in notice he gives them 2 weeks notice. How come we couldn't get 1 farewell show? The reason is that he was pushed out. Mike and Chris's relationship deteriorated to the point that they couldn't be in the same room together.
Almost broke down. Dog is the reason I started listening to them. Who is going to disagree with Mike with the Yankees now? At least he has Heussler during the updates. Mike will need a partner and I will listen to him since I cannot stand ESPN since they are so anti-NY but my afternoons will never be the same.
Moving show it's too bad that the show ended this way after 19 years - Chris did the fans and Mike and himself a injustice not because he decided to try something new but Chris did lie to the fans by saying he wasn't going anywhere because he was under contract. Chris mislead the shows fans and i'm disappointed he always got on athletes who mislead management and disregarded the fans and in the end he did something very similar. I'll miss them, they both will regret the move, it's sillness guys.
As arrogant as they wer, they were very entertaining. Prediction: In two years they will be back together. They are much better together than apart...much better.
gonna miss dogs rants...as a yankee fan, im not gonna miss his magic number countdowns, haha, especially this year...mad dog must be goin nuts yankees may finally miss playoffs, and hes not gonna be in NYC to destroy us yankee fans, haha ..wish ya luck mad dog
ESPN is so coporatized and commericalized, i can't stand to watch many of there live studio shows. ESPN antonym was the Mike and the Maddog show. I think in the long run both will regret how they each had a hand in ruining a program that could have gone on until they both wanted to retire. It's ashame on both of them. And a Mega loss for the shows viewers which thanks to YES network are many beyond tri state area. This sports team will be missed.
WFAN did the shows fans a great wrong by not allowing a in studio farewell. Mike conveyed as much in his monologue that the stations hierarchy didn't want him to address the shows demise. if Chris was pushed out and i believe he was then WFAN was asinine to have done so. But it does take two and both of these opinionated sportcaster superstars had a hand in the demise of the show and their partnership. We the fans will move on where? The lose is ours for now and maybe Mike & Chris someday too.
I agree. I learned more listening to them than listening to those clowns on ESPN. Sportscenter is a freakin joke as they talk nonsense that no one cares about more than actual sports. I can't stand almost every analyst there either. But Dog could not turn down the $ and his own station.
Mike and dog were must listen ! they had the great interviews...best ever..

WFAN should have given Mad Dog the extra 200K per year, this never should have happened.
Sirius offered him his OWN Channel which he couldn't turn down

@devilsfan1986 If you think Mike Francesa is down to Earth, you clearly do not listen to the program.
It doesn't really get more pompous than Mikey.
