I went to Junior High and High School with Tom Howell in Castaic and Saugus in the Santa Clarita Valley during the early 1980s and he was always a righteous dude! I was proud of his success as an actor back in the day! He didn't have a Southern accent though! May God bless him. He's also a good singer!
@@straightrazorstevepublishi4899 Lol, isn’t fake it until you make it what it’s all about? Either way, I love that Tom is around and we get to experience him as a singer/ storyteller. He should cover some Bonnie Raitt songs; they would be perfect for his voice.
@@jzeish perhaps, but when this platform has several vids, some recent of him talking in his customary voice it's hard not to cringe. Personally I'm a fan of his films. Look forward to his upcoming music, however hope he comes to his senses and loses his disingenuous accent. It might alienate his fan base that are distracted by it. But nothing is critical I suppose. Excelsior!

Originally, I had the same response. The more you listen to Tom, I think he really sounds gravely as opposed to “southern”.
Since he moved to the Deep South about 10-15 years ago.
