At this point of my life, I’m like Amal 100% - having realistic (or sorta pessimistic) view of marriage, very comfortable with my situation of just spending time with family & friends and others opinions and view on money, early marriage and stuffs.
But I do wanna get married when the time comes (read: the good potential husband comes)
P/s: I really enjoy you ladies’ podcast. I always listen while driving, stucking in the traffic. It makes my driving trip not depressing anymore.

Same here! I keep my expectations low in marriages. And maybe by doing this I might not be devastated when things get ugly. Butttttt I’m still hoping that it wouldn’t be that bad idk. I enjoy being single, I got to spend valuable time with my family but at the same time I yearn a romantic relationship...one day kot in shaa Allah

Iman is right. Most people dont realise how important your spouse’s family really is. They can make or break your marriage.
I don't really think Amal is unreasonable or pessimistic, she makes a loooot of sense actually. There is a fine balance of between being naive and being prepared with regards to marriage. Realistically, one can never be 'ready' for marriage... it's new! It's different, and it's life changing. However, it's also essential that one knows the 'theory' part at least. Wowwww, so many things to comment on lol. Interesting podcast! Maybe I might do my own!
I want a husband yang faham kerja rumah and jaga anak bukan kerja seorang isteri sahaja.
All the love and money and looks will fade away when the husband is not helpful and responsible.

I think I can relate to Amal. Because I just dont feel the commitment.. like I dont want to share my 'me-time' with my other. Like why do I have to? I dont feel like I am ready enough to be in a relationship. We cant follow others, just because others in a relationship / marriage, its not our job to be part of that 'trend'. If you're ready, you can go for it.. if you're not, then dont. There are things when yes, we have to conform to our society, collectivistic way. But at the same time, you should know your stand. Its your life, not others
Good point ! I think that as we get older our top proprieties in life become more realistic / simple.
One of my favorite quotes " As you get older you will understand more and more that it's not about what you look like or what you own, it's all about the person you have become "

Im not married yet, but suka dengar married people stories. How they deal with their spouse on their hobby, what they like, and so on. It just dapat gambaran how married life would be. And yes couldnt agree more about Marriage is all about communication. 😊

Iman is right about the wives always hinting all over until at a certain level, you suddenly not in the mood for the rest of the day. I sometimes do that..hahaha..until one day my husband directly talk to me and tell me that if you want something, just tell me..not by giving me hints and all...we men don't do hints...and i was like he's right..just a simple thing we ladies make it complicated...and ohh the man of your dreams is also true. I do have that list hand written when I was a teenager and none of the list match with the criteria of my husband.. but then again, amazingly you will realize that you and your husband complete each other.
Okay, so I'm almost done with the podcast and I just wanna input something. I believe it's best to have, as you all have said, standards, or in other words, criterias. What are some things you reaaaally cannot compromise on? Prayers? Certain physical traits (yes, even physical)? - because attraction plays a huge role - and etc etc. If you really have these criterion and you don't find what you're looking for, don't waste time. Like I said, these are things one can't compromise on. I see so many people out of fear of being lonely or rejected they drop their standards or loosen up their criteria only to be severely disappointed after the marriage... so like what you all have discussed today, know thyself.

Hi Iman and Amal! Would like to suggest if probably u guys can discuss on the topic of marriage on a standard basis. As in, when the husband has a lower profile than the wife in term of financial (wage), or job position, family background, study background etc. In a sense where the wife is dominant over the husband . Thank u!
Oh yes! I'm currently in a dilemma now regarding this. I'm constantly questioning myself if I'm shallow to want someone who has the same educational qualifications as me :/

hey, it's about a wife gave a hint to his husband at a stall about food that she craves by just mentioning the food name which is kaya ball. until they both get into the car, the husband realised that his wife looks upset but still he can't figure out the hint. End up, he just asked why she looks upset, and yeah she said she wants the kaya ball😂 the highlighted point was man can't read mind.
