I'm 39 I do this for a living this guy is a perfectionist like me , Most people don't understand the time and love you put into a piece of art is priceless but people brag about a stupid art cardboard picture worth hundreds of thousands.
Most people have no idea how difficult it is to free-hand draw a circle or two or more parallel lines. I work in CNC machining where tolerances are tight, down to .0005" and watching this man is a pleasure.
I've seen quite a few red seal master tiliers in my day, but this guy is truly in a league of his own, like a stone Mason or a vintage plaster. His artistic skills are very creative. These masters are in very high demand; expensive. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he isn't fully booked for at least six months. Exceptional craftsmanship....
He definitely makes the cut, the way he pieced it all together, the guy floored it! I haven't seen many people with skills like these in my en-tile life.

Im amazed at the free-hand circle he drew. If there's a trick to doing that I wish i knew it but have a feelings something learned over time and done by eye. When I have done circles as an in-lay, i end up using my measuring tape to check the circles dimensions and to draw it, I use a string with a pencil attached to the end with it being anchored in the centre of the circle. Than drawing it usually has to be done at least two times and sometimes three to make sure it is not off-kilter. This guy doing it so well with none of these steps is just mind-blowing to me and PLEASE share any tips to that can help another tile setter to do it this way. Just AWESOME is all I can say!

Carrying the tile flat on pallet is one thing, stone should be carried or transported vertically and not horizontally... said by a professional union stone masom..
I love laying tile. I treat myself to birthday and Chrisymas presents such as reciprocating saw or a new circuit panel. My absolute favorite was the wet tile saw. I learned how to cut circles and not to breath or sneeze when cutting marble. I made a marble firebreak for my wood burner that looked like heatwaves radiating around it. It is a beautiful and underappreciated art form.

Average wage for a skilled craftsman in China is around $5-6/hr, which is good, but he'd definitely make a lot more in the US or Europe.
