While this is not the most accurate way to describe the series, I have to share what I thought was a funny enough description that somebody used: "Imagine if Mob Psycho took place in Regular Show, that's Dandadan."
Ken Takakura is a famous Japanese actor who appeared in the film "Black Rain" directed by Ridley Scott, co-starring with Michael Douglas and Andy Garcia. One of his famous lines from a film he starred in when he was young was "I'm clumsy..."
More importantly he was in numerous yakuza films, that's why the enka song is playing in the background after she mentioned him and walking down the hallway. That BGM is basically straight out of the Showa Zankyoden yakuza films lol
yeh she tends to be the more reliable narrator of the two so we focus more on her internal interpretation of the events while Okarun is more like a Luffy or Goku etc where we mainly watch his reactions to the events

The Mob Psycho comparison is actually spot on since some of the staff that worked on it are working on Dandadan. I'm so excited to see this series finally animated. It's one of my favorite manga, period.

It is PEAK, I binged the manga like it was oxygen and i was drowning it was so good, fun fact you'll probably see everywhere the author of this was Fujimoto's assistant in early chainsawman and his previous manga, and i think the influence is noticeable

I watched the first 3 episodes in theater, and it was something. The beginning of it they had an interview with the manga creator and voice actors, and they pretty much said that its going to be confusing and just nonsense but still very entertaining and fun. For me It felt like the first 3 episodes were the prologue.
The manga has some of the best art I've ever seen, stuff so crazy you can't believe they finish a chapter a week. So I'm glad the animation does it justice

I watched the dub of this first, and the dub is really good. For something with so many cool visuals I was glad I started with it. The show is so good so far I might actually just watch both versions each week. Great show so far.

This series is absolutely bizarre, but it's one of the best new animes of the year. The fact that it has ghosts and aliens in it makes it even more interesting.
Dandadan is truly one of the shows of all times. Even the hardcore fans can't truly describe what it really is. It's that insane. Maybe not Chainsaw Man level of insane but still, INSANE.
The vibe of the anime reminds me of the original FLCL. I haven't read the manga, so I don't know how accurate a comparison that is, but it made me wanna keep watching!
This show is a love letter the UFO, ghost (especially, no duh, the Japanese traditions) and parapsychology crowds. With an awesome sound track. And an opening that is an homage to Ultraman. This is being made with love, and it shows. If you know urban mythology, though, you get all the jokes.

In Voice actors/actress, i recognize Luffy's (One Piece) voice actress for Turbo Granny, Frieza (DBZ) voice actor for one (or two) of the 3 aliens, Zoro voice actor (One Piece) for the third Alien and Tanjiro (Demon Slayers) voice actor for Cursed boy. Weird to heard Luffy wanted to have the D....he already have it..
Dandadan is such a refreshment in the anime community and its going to be such an enjoyable journey! Can't wait for all react channels for more dandadan insanity🔥(Reminder that the wierd fan serivce will drastically dimish after a few ep)

Having read the first 5 arcs (62 chapters), Dandadan is a ride. Can't wait for more episodes. Science Saru killing it so far.
