Explanation is always the best.Puting the music and and words on the screen doesn't help.
At the time I made that video, subtitles would not show up on the YT mobile app. It is important for my students to be able to view that video while out and about, so I put that text on there in place of subtitles. I thought about narrating it, but that would exclude anyone with hearing difficulties. You can turn the volume down to avoid the music, and still be able to follow the steps on screen because of the text. Wayne

Hi. Thanks for the suggestion. With this particular video, there is no narration to close caption, though. There is a background music track, and the text on screen describes the steps involved in setting up a total station. Unless I'm missing something (and happy to be corrected!) closed caption only works for creating subtitles to a spoken narration...is that correct? If so, then there's no need for closed captions on this video as there is no spoken word to go with it. Thanks for the feedback. Wayne
CAD and Stuff If you outline the text in closed captions it will allow people with visual disabilities to use software to be able to decipher what is being shown. That way, educational institutions who are attempting to comply with accessibility laws would be able to share your video with their students.
