Since Yasuke really existed, he could have been a great side character like all the historical figures that are shown in Assassins Creed, but having him as a protagonist that slaughters Japanese Men, i feel like it’s kind of a racist fantasy coming true.

I've seen black creators like you, Atraes, Cyael, and Khaliltooshort (Kaida) call out DEI nonsense. On the flipside, I've seen dispute from black creators saying the Japanese ministry isn't looking into investigating this scenario at all. The Black Hokage on his Hokage Highlights channel recently read an article from GamesRadar about this. You might want to check that out to see what he says.

Alot of Yasuke's Story is a complete mystery. There's not alot writren about him. There's very few definitive things we can say about him. We know more about some randos in the American revolution than we do about Yasuke.

Compare this controversy to the Genshin boycott and it's obvious why Hoyoverse has completely ignored the people complaining vs why Ubisoft had to put out this response. It's because the people boycotting Genshin are a small minority of Americans who aren't even in the top ten biggest sources of revenue for them, whereas the people complaining about AC Shadows are a large majority and their game is set to flop big time.
Point being - If this response from Ubisoft was unnecessary and it was really just a small minority of westerners complaining (as many defenders of this game are claiming), then they wouldn't have released this damage control statement. They'd have done what Hoyoverse did and just ignore them entirely, but they didn't.

This will be my last ever comment about this whole situation since it’s been Milked to death by this point and I will give my final thoughts on this situation. Clearly they don’t care about the outcome of this game nor the backlash. If they did it would have been canceled. The triple a companies are a lost cause at this point and there is no going back. They only care about pleasing investors and not for fans anymore. I will be writing off all western media for the foreseeable future until there is a change to make entertaining again. Look I do support diversity and inclusion but not like this. This is is corporate greed and it’s made to cater to people that don’t care about these games shows etc. it is a shame to see the current climate cater to these types.
