Hi Nick! I really like the way both of the cacti/succulent gardens turned out. They're really pretty. Your two friends are very lucky to be getting these. Thank you so much for sharing!

I bought a bunch of succulents when I first started out with plants. Over time, I realized I don’t particularly like them and was tired of caring for so many. Last month I combined them all into one shallow pot, so now I feel like I only have one plant (that I’m not fond of) to care for instead of a dozen. So far, so good.

Hey guys ! In the succulent / cacti specialist community , we actually super advice against putting cacti in the same pot as other non cacti succulents . Yes , they are both technically succulents but a elephant bush succulent will need more water than a cactus . You can water one side only , sure , but that water may seep to the other side and you are still risking rot . To each their own !

It’s hard to tell but I don’t think that’s a Semp, and if it was it won’t do well indoors anyway.

Nice arrangements. Pretty and your design comments are on point. Too bad the plants might get lucky enough to grow, As a Tucson resident, I will mention that singular is cactus, plural is cacti. You may know that, but not what you said throughout this. Also, it is a wonder to me how many plants you are growing in tiny pots. With the growth rates here, these pots could be filled in 6 months with any one of these plants. Echeverias are 1 gallon up to 5 gallon pots in many nurseries. Your columnar cactus will get quite large if well grown. I have mammilarias fill 12" bowls in just 12 months, big mounds in 2 years. They pup and form clusters rapidly I think you are applying terrarium concepts to the desert plants. These plants grow, they are not in a small confined space. Even though I try to give my plants adequate size pots (e.g., in your world it probably makes sense if you realize I gave my Thai Constellation the equivalent of a 10 gallon container), it feels like plants are constantly outgrowing their pots. In a 70 degree Pennsylvania windowsill, maybe these succulents and cacti will be miserable enough to stay a while in suspended animation. Here, no chance of that. Just funny to see how differently you approach a cactus/succulent planting. I accept that your design might even be fitting to growing these in your area, since they may well not grow but simply try to cling to life. If you ever want a cactus experience, come visit us in Tucson. You'd have fun and the 3 local botanic gardens and Saguaro National Park (with fairly nearby the incomparable Organ Pipe Nat. Mon.) you'd have a lot to check out in addition to some home garden collections. It would also surprise you how many plants actually tolerate lower humidity than generally believed. Your other videos are great, which is why I follow you. Thanks.

I called myself making a succulent planter early on in my plant parenthood and needless to say, I still have the pot….🥴🫠
Definitely gonna have to try again with this project idea 🤣 maybe cacti this time though
