Great job! I occasionally fish Lake Roberts but have missed seeing most of the beautiful birds and butterflies. Thank you. Tom

Been to this lake many times canoeing and fishing. Had many fun times there. There is a small island there too that we landed on many times. Memories brought back by this video. Thanks.

Before my husband passed away we lived in Deming. We went to Lake Roberts many times. We hiked around it so many times, we knew it well. We were going to retire there, but he died before we were able to.

So sorry to hear about your late husband. It would have been such a wonderful place to retire. Take care and thank you for watching.

Forgot to mention that I had no idea that there were so many different species of birds there.

Really nice video. I've been living in Elephant Butte since 2017 but never knew of that lake. I loved all the birds, ducks and other critters you photographed and identified. It was really interesting. I'll be checking out your other vids and subbing. Thanks again.

Thank you! Lake Roberts is only about a 2.5 hour drive from Elephant Butte via Deming, or the shorter, but slower Black Range. It is definitely worth a visit, but it can get crowded on summer weekends. Hope you also enjoy our other vids and thank you for watching.

This is the best video I have seen on Lake Roberts. However, I don't think you mentioned how close it is to Gila Cliff Dwellings?

Thank you so much. We plan on doing a video about the Gila headwaters and cliff dwellings in the near future. As you may know, Hwy. 15 from Lake Roberts to the Gila Cliff Dwellings is slow going! Thank you for watching.

@@advennature950the Cliff Dwellings are what triggered my lifelong interest in archeology. As a child born in New Mexico, those dwellings convinced me that, if they could live in this state and thrive, I wanted to know how they did it!

@@advennature950 I was lucky enough to work at Santa Rita in 82 & 83. Spent the whole time living in my travel trailer in Mimbres. After work in the summer would head up to Lake Roberts for the evening. Miss those good times in a great place.
