Great video! Lots of good info here. Ive never been a huge birdwatcher, but some of the species in the region are really unique and beautiful and I'll be sure to keep an eye out the next time I visit the area.
Thank you! Glad that you enjoyed the video.
26 years in Tucson and I have never visited this place. Thank you for the heads up I will definitely check it out while I still can 🦢🦆
Definitely worth a visit. Thank you for watching
not a boa constrictor, a tree boa or Cascabel.
No kidding, parents rob their children from the great outdoors, I'm a chick forest technician from Montreal, my son, 26, is an arborist and my daughter, 28 is a biologist, the gift of nature is the greatest of all! ❤
We totally agree that the gift of nature is the greatest of all! So proud of you and your family. Thank you for watching.
I'm fortunate to live here. You did it justice.
Thank you. It is such a beautiful place for you to call home.
Wonderful footage!
Thank you for watching.
Woeful.
Thank you! We just found you on RUclips and subscribed. We love the Tucson area for birding. Sweetwater is such a jewel right in town.
We are so glad you found us and subscribed!
@@advennature950 you're welcome. We mainly show birds on our channel, but love all of nature.
Very nice video! ❤
Thank you very much!
Great video! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just another spectacular video of our favorite state. Thank you for sharing. We are coming up in November 🙌
Thank you so very much. We hope you have a great trip to the Land of Enchantment in November.
In the summer there is also Lucy's warblers, Yellow Warblers, Bell's Vireo. Soras are common and Yellow headed blackbirds can be seen. It is a great location. Well worth a few hours if you are visiting Tucson.
Well done!
Thank you!
Really nice video and much more informative than many of the other videos that concentrate on just the cranes and the geese.
Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed the video.
I was looking for more about the park and this video is more about the birds in the park and a few other animals...!
I remember going to the Black Mesa in Oklahoma. Jack a long time friend of my Dads and his boys, me and my brother went to the part of the BM that was notorious for Mummies being found in Sand Caves in the surrounding area. We did find a cave. It only went back into the bluff about 40-50' nearest I could remember. There was another opening low to the ground in the back of the Cave, and even as children 12-14 years of age we would have to dig the sand to get through the opening. I stuck my hand back in through the opening and found that the floor through the opening was very wet. We did not explore any further, as our Dads told us not to be very long, since had to get back to Kansas.
Wonderful story. We did not know about the Mummies in the Sand Caves. So glad you have fond memories of the area. Thank you very much for watching
@@advennature950 Yes, these were memories I won't forget, and let me say that I'm going by what I remember. Jack told stories of a child found buried in a cave, and was thought to be so well preserved by the arid dry climate. Not sure we were in the same area as where the Mummies were found, and I said the large opening in the sand rock with the almost perfectly rounded roof may have been about 30-40' deep with the small opening in the back of the sand cave. Everything is larger when your younger. I remember running down from the bluff after you get past the jagged rocks and my Dad was yelling don't run, slow down. LOL, we could have ruined ourselves that day. Sticking my hand back as far as I could in the smaller hole wasn't very smart either. You have no fear as a young person.
Excellent video ❤
Love the video. Is there a place in the park I can take my 2 dogs and let them swim?
Glad that you enjoyed the video. NM State Parks policy is that dogs must be kept on a leash at all times! As far as we know, dogs are not allowed to swim in the lakes...but you could contact the park and ask them! Thank you for watching.
Great video 🎉
Thank you!
Wonderful informative video, thanks for all the great footage!
You are most welcome. Thank you for watching.
So sad it has almost dried up.
Hoping they will get a decent monsoon season!
Great, informative video! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you kindly.
I wish I had seen this video before I went there. I was just there and didn't see many animals but it was raining. Great job I camped at number 9. It looked like next to where you were. Great job 👍
Seasonal appearance of red-winged blackbirds too....is magnificent. Marvelous call......
It’s pronounced Lee not Lea
Thank you for the correction!
I love how you talk about the birds and describe what kind they are. Very helpful. Thank you. ❤️
Thank you kindly and thank you for watching .
Thank you for another wonderful video! Beautiful place! Love your channel.
Thank you very much Martha. So pleased that you enjoy our videos. Valles Caldera is definitely a beautiful place to visit.
i work at a riparian area near vail, seen a lot more oscines this year.
That is good news. Thank you for watching.
Nature can be wonderful if we treated fair..Thank you well done.

Pleased that you enjoyed our video. Thank you for watching!
No cats, either!
Forgot to mention that I had no idea that there were so many different species of birds there.
Been to this lake many times canoeing and fishing. Had many fun times there. There is a small island there too that we landed on many times. Memories brought back by this video. Thanks.
Pleased that the video brought back memories for you.Thank you for watching
I've seen so many beautiful insects, birds and even interesting mushrooms I havnt seen anywhere else in tucson. It's great!
It really is! Thank you for watching.
Thank you, very nicely done, and very glad Tucson has this smart reclamation area. A fine place to walk, so many varied interconnecting trails. Plus good places to sit under a tree and read.
Thank you for your kind comments. The City of Tucson definitely sets a good example of how to reclaim wastewater. Thank you for watching.
Great job! I occasionally fish Lake Roberts but have missed seeing most of the beautiful birds and butterflies. Thank you. Tom
Love this video but there are so many more birds, hope you continue to do vids of the beautiful birds on my beautiful island Trinidad n Tobago
We hope to return to Trinidad and Tobago in the not too distant future. Thank you for watching.
Before my husband passed away we lived in Deming. We went to Lake Roberts many times. We hiked around it so many times, we knew it well. We were going to retire there, but he died before we were able to.
So sorry to hear about your late husband. It would have been such a wonderful place to retire. Take care and thank you for watching.
This place is beautiful!
Absolute paradise
Thank you for the nice video 🙂 I just finished a week of birding in SE AZ, and it was amazing 🙂 I got all of these birds "except" the Olive Warbler... Which I really wanted 😢 Exactly where the heck do they come down low ??? Because I really need to go back 🙂 And the more excuses, the better 😀
We have had good luck with Olive Warbler during the summer at the Barfoot/Rustler Parks intersection above the Onion Saddle in the Chiricauhua Mountains. A few birds overwinter in lower elevation areas such as Cave Creek Canyon. Our advice is to listen for their calls as they tend to sing from the tops of the tall pine trees during the breeding season. Thank you for watching.
Another great spot. I’ve tracked down the Trogon several times. Awesome bird. I need to get back to Sierra Vista one of these days to find the one semi local bird that has alluded me, the Flame Colored Tanager.
Any day you see a trogon is always a good day. The tanager is a bogey bird for many birders. Even when present, it can still be hard to get a decent view! Miller and Ramsey Canyons sometimes have a lingering bird, as well as Cave Creek Canyon near Portal. Good luck in your quest for the Flame.
Great place. I used to stop there almost every Sunday morning when I was birding. Got a lot of life birds out of there.
Definitely a great place to get life birds! Thank you for watching.
Thank you kindly for your extremely helpful and knowledgeable video, it is very nicely done. I've lived in Tucson 25 years and knew next to nothing about Sweetwater… But now I do! Thank you!
Pleased that you enjoyed the video. Sweetwater is definitely a great place to visit. Thank you for watching.
Muchas gracias excelente documento saludos desde México, quería conocer el lugar vivo cerca, Mexicali y me ayudaron a conocerlo gracias
You are most welcome and thank you for watching.
Great video buddy 👍.. We were there last week. Had a great time!
Thank you for watching. So glad you had a great time!
Thank you for sharing!… You made like a nice little nature documentary! We’re coming to the Chiricauwas in late June. At this point we’re staying at the Bonita campground. Would you recommend it instead staying at one of these campgrounds?… Also will there be still some good birding in any of these areas at that time?
Bonita campground can be good in late June to see some of the regular southeastern Arizona specialties. However, if you want to see Elegant Trogons and the possibility of some of the rarer hummingbirds, we highly recommend using the Sunny Flats campground as a base. Thank you for watching and we hope you have a great trip!
The last time I visited this lake I was 10 years old. I’m now 51.
And the quetzal ? ❤
This is an amazing guide to Birding South East Arizona, thanks for taking the time and effort to share this!
