Today's actually my graduation from school as well. That is a really pleasent coincidence. I will congratulate my classmates with that wonderful "pilluarit"😊 Greetings from Uzbekistan, we really love to watch your videos on geography lesson❤
I really want to move to Greenland, I doubt it would ever happen, but it looks like such a wonderful country and the language makes sense. Thank you for sharing your country and it's culture.
For a country with half the people that live in my city, you sure seem to be around people all the time. Are you a local celebrity? Have you become famous?
It is good to see you again. RUclips has not suggested your channel to me in some time. I see you all don't have summer yet over there because you are wearing coats. It's hot in the U.S. 🤭🤭 Also thanks for the language lesson.❤
Since I’ve found your channel, I’ve always wondered if it is a coincidence that both the Greenlandic and Icelandic languages have the same pronunciation of double L? Since I don’t know of any other cultures that have the same pronunciation I find it a pretty weird coincidence
I would guess that who made the writing system for Greenlandic looked to other languages when deciding on a way to write this sound, and found a similar sound in Welsh.
I’m always so surprised how similar Greenlandic is to Alaskan native languages. In Yupik, “thank you” is “quyana”pronounced almost identically to Greenlandic without the “k” sound at the end.
It’s because the shape of the mouth and placement of the tongue is very similar to that of the letter L. Only that you blow air around the sides of the mouth and tongue.
It's not like chhh. It's hard to explain but it's very similar to the Welsh LL, whilst I can't speak Welsh, I live not far from Wales so can say some words or towns. You flatten the last 1/3 of the tounge to the roof of the mouth and the air goes around the tounge making the sound, that in Welsh anyway, it's hard to go from the p sound to LL sound though so might be different in Greenlandic
Interesting how the “-rit” part has a guttural R pronunciation. I’m assuming this is due to Danish influence, but does this mean that before the Danish arrived, the “R” sound in Greenlandic wasn’t guttural?
Congratulations You have invented a new kinda a stupid A damage you can never undo, kinda stupid. Let’s review, you took a rumor a few people knew, I begged you to take a break, you refused to, so scared of what your enemies will do to you, your the only enemy you ever seem to lose to. You know why Thomas Jefferson gets what he wants? He doesn’t dignify school yard taunts with a response so yeah, congratulations. - Hamilton
The double LLs sound like Welsh! 😊 That's so cool.
Yes! This is really amazing
Came here to say the same! How interesting that they’re similar!!
She got a whole group of people to hang out with her. Respect.
Man I friggin love this lady, she’s always so happy 🥹
Congratulations to the young man on his academic achievement! Pilluarit!😊
Every day is a learning day with you at the helm. The more I know about Greenland and your language, the better. 🇬🇱

You should do a tutorial on how to do the “LL” sound because I’m sure many people struggle at it like me 😂😂
And the Q sound as well.
Now I understand how non Arab people felt trying to pronounce Arabic letters
As a latin woman i was waiting to see a hug instead of a single handshake 🤝🤷🏻♀️
Same in Indonesia, we also say "palluarit" to congratulate someone at 30th of September
For a country with half the people that live in my city, you sure seem to be around people all the time. Are you a local celebrity? Have you become famous?
Welsh has a Ll which is pronounced like the Greenlandic Ll!
At first I thought it was impossible to pronounce, but now I can do it, yay!
so intimidating, but I think I got it!!
Pilluarit to Millu! From New Mexico
Qujanaq Thank you for sharing! Enjoy the videos and all the different people you include.
The double L sound is similar to that in Welsh though it seems more sibilant.
I like to learn this!
Pillaurit Miilu ❤
❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you Sis
I love herrrrrr I wana visit someday
Pilluarit to Miilu!
❤❤❤❤
Luv yer. ❤
Greenlandic sounds like some of our native languages in Canada.
Because they're eachothers closest linguistic relatives ;)
It's an Eskimo-Aluet language so that's unsurprising.
It is good to see you again. RUclips has not suggested your channel to me in some time.
I see you all don't have summer yet over there because you are wearing coats. It's hot in the U.S. 🤭🤭
Also thanks for the language lesson.❤
I think Mongolian also have these type of sounds
You're so beautiful ❤
Tillykke
Sounds just like Yupik except a little bit different like a different dialect. We say quayana for thank you without the Q at the end. Too cool.
Like the 🧑🎓 hat!
Pilluarit guys❤❤❤❤
We also have the double L sound in Welsh!
Llongyfarchiadau is how we say "congratulations" in Welsh.
Not the children standing on the road to make video 😂😂
The same type of hat as in Finland!
PilluRit Good Silas, Takuss Q.

Pilluarit, Miilu.
That would take a lot a practice for me to say !
The double LL is similar to how the Welsh pronounce it!
In the Welsh language we pronounce ll in a similar way
I’m always so surprised how similar Greenlandic is to Alaskan native languages. In Yupik, “thank you” is “quyana”pronounced almost identically to Greenlandic without the “k” sound at the end.
Same language family. Eskaleut languages.
Tillykke!
nå grønlandsk 😭
Pilluarit Millu 🎉🎉
I keep trying to make the double LL, and all I'm getting is Donald Duck sounds 😂
that sound is impossible for me!
In alaska thank you is quyana !!
A comment for the beautiful language
Jeg er fra Grønland❤ og Danmark
Wow it's like welsh
Is there a click at the end of qujanaq?
Can u explain why LL is spoken like chhh ? Thats very different woud be interesting to know 😊
It’s because the shape of the mouth and placement of the tongue is very similar to that of the letter L. Only that you blow air around the sides of the mouth and tongue.

Pillaurit Miilu 🎉
I obligated the word but great video 😊❤
I tried the LL sound. My cat freaked out because he thought I was hissing at him. 😹
Anyways, pilluarit to Miilu for his graduation! 🥳🇬🇱
Do u have a car or boat or both?
Is greenlandic mostly spoken or do people speak English more often.
Greenlandic and Danish are the languages people speak. Pretty much everyone speaks english too, as 2nd or 3rd language, not as an everyday language.
@@vrenak ty!
Hey, I was wondering if you educate us on the forced birth control in Greenland back in the 60-70s? How do your people feel about these things today
Parabens is said in Portuguese.
Alright, this is your fault, dear Q: where do I place my tongue to pronounce that 'LL' sound?
Like a cat hissing! 😂
Interesting how the “-rit” part has a guttural R pronunciation.
I’m assuming this is due to Danish influence, but does this mean that before the Danish arrived, the “R” sound in Greenlandic wasn’t guttural?
How do you say subjugated by Denmark but happy for money?
Cu ia nac
Pi,, uarit

Congratulations

I tried to pronounce but it is difficult for me.
How to say fodyan gelo in Konkani
💀 love the clip of saying congrats to a kid with a car driving up in the background, a1 safety
Pilluaritsi.
قويوناك
Go google what pillu means in finnish :DDD
I thought you pronounce everything the way you read it O0
Weird, the double L is like Welsh. Who would have thought?
If it's ssss like a snake why would u write it as L🤨
Most of the European languages are such a phonetic nightmare. You just have to memorise so much without any logic.
Ofcourse including English.
Wow the Latin alphabet does not fit your language at all
