- THE NEW 2020 DAIWA BG MQ 6000D-H VS. 2020 SHIMANO SARAGOSA SRG6000SW
This is my opinion on these amazing reels. I would like to hear your comments below! The sound coming from the Saragosa was the line roller - so just put some reel oil and you're good to go. Thanks for watching!

*Bought a 500 for an ultralight rod. It's very smooth **enjoyable.fishing** recommend casts great. One odd thing- the bale wire is a bit heavy diameter in my opinion for a reel of this size. But a great purchase.*
BG MQ definitely feels a lot smoother. MQ is also sealed. I used the MQ 8000 and the new Saragosa 8000 side by side to compare. The MQ just got even smoother with use, but stayed solid. The Saragosa developed a lot of play and wiggles. I replaced the knob on the MQ with a Gomexus power knob.
I always was a Shimano fan but Daiwa is coming out with some sick reels. All I been buying is Daiwa.
Hello!
Can i ask you, i buy mq1000H , which knob can i use how many mm?
@@marojecagalj8319 10 000? I have a 45mm on my 8000 and 10 000 and it is perfect for my medium sized hands. If you have big hand you can fit a 47 mm.
can i buy any gomexus knob? What parameters should i look at?
@@marojecagalj8319 I’ll go with 45mm like this one. gomexusgroup.com/products/gomexus-power-knob-for-shimano-stella-sw-6000-8000-10000-reel-handle-45mm-direct
the best way to really test them is to take them to the beach and target big fish and that will put the reel to the real test in my opinion
Also, after some amount of miles of line pulled in with heavy use and even abuse.... I love both brands and ave been through a lot of other brands that end up in a parts box full of broken reels.
I have two BG MQ's and one Saragosa SW and I think I will replace the Saragosa for another BG MQ. Feels just better and has a longer reel foot. I don't know if its just me but the bail of the Saragosa 6000 sometimes hit my hand when I am holding the rod on the foregrip at a popping rod.
Thanks for the video I was actually trying to choose between those reels also thanks for subscribing to our channel
i guess I'm kind of off topic but does anyone know a good site to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Tate Martin Flixportal :)
@Augustine Willie Thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D Appreciate it!
@Tate Martin Glad I could help xD
The BG MQ all the way! Much better, and more advanced design over the Shimano. Don’t forget, the MQ has a lot of seals in all the right places. It’s pretty darn water resistant. I have a 6000 and 8000, I would say the weakest seal on the Daiwa is under the bottom bump guard. Still, no water intrusion so far on either of my reels. A few dunks and many splashes. The Saragosa is nice, but I just don’t love it. Most Shimanos I buy never keep their new in box smoothness for long. Monocoque is the future baby!
None of those seals are user serviceable or, if we're being honest, dealer serviceable.
@@chuckschillingvideos The MQ reels are not easily user serviceable. They require a special wrench to open the side plate. If one has the wrench, anyone with half a brain can service the reel. Any good dealer can service easily. I should know, because I have had mine serviced. All seals can be very easily replaced. Don’t know where your getting your info from
I don’t understand why some of you guys keep spreading misinformation just because you’re biased. It is simply false that the MQ is as sealed as the Saragosa, that’s just a fact and that’s also why it is a smoother reel. Then you may prefer it, but that’s a whole other story.
Also, the MQ technology comes with pros and cons as everything.
For example I will probably never buy a bg MQ because I consider it overpriced for what it actually offers. The bg black LT can basically do the same things at a much much better price. I’d rather buy a saltist than a bg MQ if I wanted a reel with MQ body in all honesty
With the Gosa there is a ball bearing in the line catcher that makes noise and with the BG MQ there is none, so it cannot make noise but does not last long either.
Judging two reels only by cranking feel isn't enough though. Maybe it was for you, but people need to consider other factors. For example, the Saragosa feels a bit less smooth here compared to the BG MQ because it has better internal sealing. This is a natural tradeoff if you want a reel where the internal parts are better protected from saltwater and sand. Having said that, it's still VERY smooth (definitely more than, say, a Penn). It's Shimano smooth. But like you said, both are simply amazing reels especially for their price. The main choice factor here is going to be the conditions you fish in. If you plan to fish in the surf and/or in tough conditions and you want more durability in those conditions, I would definitely go with the Saragosa. If you've never experienced getting wet from the waves hitting the rocks beneath you or sand/water touching you as you try to pick up a fish on the surf, and you want the Daiwa, then definitely go with the Daiwa.
Agreed! the saragosa is a beast almost in any situations. Saragosa is made for deep sea salt water that will fight for big species! I'm yes for saragosa.
Hey man, great vid.
Shimano and Daiwa are two different things,
It really depends on what you like or got used to...
I also have a gosa 6000 (the previous generation) and yup, same noise but it’s normal.
Keep on with your great vids 💪🏻
Thanks man appreciate it
I just purchased the Okuma Coronado CDX 80... it's a big boy!
That’s a great reel if you bait fish a lot.
shimano saragosa is little shaking, daiwa bgmq is close, no shaking. both are smooth, but daiwa will be last longer. love daiwa
Me too!!!
Me too
Finally I found the video,Thanks for you guys comments.
I have same problems, like shaking , gear noise . And daiwa more balance , smooth ,
I think new Saragosa quality is inconsistent, so Sad 😭
I regret to buy Saragosa.
We can set the level to compare
MQ bg with Saragosa, Certate with Twin power , Saltiga with Stella ,
About this time I think MQ bg better than Saragosa, Daiwa win !
@@潘焜裕 Something might be wrong with your reel. See if you can have it returned or re-serviced. It's not supposed to have any shaking or noise. My Saragosa 2020 is butter smooth and very solid. And there are definitely improvements in the 2020 model compared to the old model. As for comparing with the new BG MQ, I don't think there is a definite winner. The BG MQ is a bit smoother but the Saragosa is better sealed (you'd need to disassemble both reels to see this).
@@marvenmema hi 👋
What size of your reel
My reel is 14000 , a bit shaking but it no problem to using
And my friend 18000 no shaking problem so smooth .
I don’t know why maybe happen only in 14k …
My Saragosa never did that noise , but it's the older version
It was the line roller bearing. Little bit of reel oil gets rid of the noise.
👍
how many meter line u spool on it...and what daimeter?
Any reel you can't dunk when your surf fishing/structure fishing is a problem for me. It's happened multiple times to me. If you do dunk the Daiwa, you must take it apart immediately or it will corrode. Good luck taking it apart too. They saved money not making it waterproof. Hence its cheaper than the Shimano. I'll stay with Shimano on this one.
If you're fishing salt water and you're gonna dunk, without question get a van staal. You can reel it underwater with no damage. They're made for montauk
You CAN'T disassemble the Daiwa - not without special tools. Nor can you service the ferrofluid. It's only truly serviceable by Daiwa.
Is that staten island across the way?
Yes!!
SI is Where I grew up, in the 1960s and 70s, the fishing sucked there. I moved to Calif in 1982. When I returned in 1995 the striper and bluefishing was phenomenal. The waters were cleaned up and I would surf fish under the vz bridge, great kills point and tottenville. Fantastic in the mid 1990s . Haven't been there since 2001. Most of the stripers in the 1960-70s were spawning up in the Chesapeake bay area, but by the 1990s they had moved north to the Hudson River. I read that in 2000 95% of the east coast stripers had come from Hudson River stock. All along the south shore of long Island the fishing was amazing back then. Halloween night 1996 I was at tobay beach next to Jones beach fishing fresh cut bunker. I caught 3 stripers that were easily 55 lbs each on three consecutive casts. No camera with me . Shame.
Where is this location thx
If want to test reels nothing can beat South African rock and surf angling.
that's tuff
Montauk. Nowhere on on earth compares
Today i will buy but which one , pls help me bro
I like Saragossa
@@TriboroFishing Thanks bro i but saragosa
My Saragosa’s doesn’t sound like that at all. I have a 14000 and a 6000.
Neither of them make noises.
The Saragosa is a solid reel!! I pick it over there BG MQ. Thanks for watching
Love shimano and own a few shimano's and daiwa myself but over time shimano spinning reels lose that smoothness for my experience
That's crazy I literally fish they're all the time. I live up the road from there
It's a good spot. Too bad they closed it at night.
I bought a 20-70 threaded rod, can I combine it with 4000 daiwa bg mq?
8-9ft rod will be a good fit for 4000 reel.
@@TriboroFishing thanks, my rod (2.74m). Lure: 20-70g.
Daiwa bg ma or daiwa bg rr I am considering
I've bought a Stradic SW8000 bit honking to go for a BQ 5000/6000
What type of fishing are you doing? What rod are you going to pair with it?
You said the Daiwa has 60lbs of drag?
26.4lbs of drag little bit more then Saragossa. Thanks for watching
Daiwa bg sw 23 vs saragosa?
I will go with Saragosa
Can't beat Shimnao service . But Diawa reel do feel better than Shimano .
The winner daiwa BG
Do a video of you changing the knob out.
Hello from Mauritius island pls is the bg made in japan too pls?
Daiwa bg and Saragossa both are not made in Japan.
@@TriboroFishing Thx you very much
Smart man. There's no comparison really between Daiwa and Shimano, not anymore. They were perhaps bit better before but now in the last 2-3 years Daiwa has stamped their authority again and others are playing catch ups as far as I can see. Even the world trade Market seems to agree with Daiwa's developmental..! What about the new Certate SW? Now I own LT CERTATE and the HD Certate and the new SW Certate 8000H and I can't wait until this new certate to arrive here down under.!
Daiwa service is great. Got two of my reels back less then two weeks. Impressive.
@@TriboroFishing although I’ve been waiting for the main gear set to arrive for the Certate HD3500sh awhile now and taking long..
@@Savviiee65 I have a Certate Lt 5000 and it’s my favorite reel for now.
What do you think about the
2021 Shimano Twin power XD in the 3000 size? I think it has my name on it!
@@TriboroFishing they’re ok. But I prefer the old shimanos, like the old Stella and the old Saragossa and Twin power as well. I don’t know about you but Shimano releases new reels just for the sake of profits instead of being like Daiwa. Daiwa releases new models when there’s something very new to release but shimano doesn’t.! I buy something from shimano then few weeks later they got a newer model
@@TriboroFishing have you seen the new Certate SW? Discontinued Catalina for Certate SW. Lol for value you can’t go past Certate. It’s basically a Caltiga I can’t wait until I get my hands on them.
If you own Certate 5k already and aware how awesome they are not to mention LT(light&tough) but in a bigger version and you got a Twin power? Bro what are you thinking..? Trust me and cancel your Twin power and pre order Certate SW and believe me you’ll thank me few years later..!
I’ve got a 4K Twin power and just like my Stella before and my Stradic ended up with broken Bail wire bearings and the sound is unbearable.
Damn listen to the noise. Looks like the line roller bearing is fuck up already. Yes I love the daiwa BG but I HATE their T-handle knob.
I put some oil in the line roller and the grinding sound went away. Kind of disappointed but it’s all good now.
I replaced the knob with this one and it was great until I lost the cover in the sand. gomexusgroup.com/products/gomexus-eva-power-knob-41mm-for-shimano-daiwa-spinning-reels-as-description
I recommend using some lock-tight for the cover.
Can change to the power knob
@@kevinsfishinglife7413 yes gomexusgroup.com/products/gomexus-power-knob-45mm-for-saragosa-sw-spheros-sw-5000-6000-8000-ultegra-xsd-5500-14000-spinning-reel-handle-direct
It’s the line-roller bearing 🤣
Yes it is thanks!!
Idk I think the spyheros is turnt up for 2021 like screw a gosa I’ll go 20k spyheros an never look back
Edit Jan 2022 i ended up with the twin power SW but I would love a saltist MQ or this bg mQ 8000
Daiwa supremacy baby
daiwa bg mq es new, shimano saragosa was 2020.at momente looks like bg is better choose.that's see the new saragosa comes in
i have both of them, 6000 bgmq and 6000 saragosa. but i would rather bgmq. it has water proof better than saragosa, lighter, smaller, strong. buy shimano, like buy brand. buy daiwa , like buy real value
Nope the bgmq does not have better waterproofing. Tackle adviser has vids on both reels. If your surf fishing the saragosa is the better option. The rear protection cover on the bgmq has no affective sealing. The seal on the side plate is weak as well.
ruclips.net/video/wSVbgxXpzys/видео.html
Daiwa is doo doo just hearing that bail arm flip says maintenance. I’ll go penn before I even consider Daiwa. Plus daiwa servers time is shit. yes it’s made in an Australia but when does anything in Australia get done by its deadline. Just a little something to think about
Daiwa bg mq is better
I like the Daiwa better, both very good!
bgmq is lightweight, smoother. smaller, long cast, bgmq suft fishing better
I agree!! I can’t wait to use it this spring!!
"bgmq suft fishing better": Why? BG MQ is a bit smoother. But the Saragosa has better sealing/protection, so more durable in the surf. Weight is about the same (only 20gram difference). No real difference in casting distance.
Saragosa will last waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than the BG MQ. Also, can’t beat the 10 year warranty.
Daiwa>shimano
Daiwa >>>> shimano
I am talking about the durability. In case of smoothness, I agree. But Daiwa only gives 1 year warranty, and it speaks for itself.
Agreed. The Saragosa is a bit less smooth here because it has better sealing than the BG MQ (as per Tackle Advisors internal inspection).
@@marvenmema also saragosa has a more efficient drivetrain
Daiwa BG MQ winner and the low price of Shimano
Daiwa is best bang for you buck
Did you test both reel with metal jigging lures about 80-100gr?thanks
No I haven’t
Do you still like the Daiwa better.I just got a slammer 4 DX.
I like the Saragossa. Penn reels are solid.
Saragosa
The Saragossa is bad ass!! Great reel for some big game.
