Well, I found a useful purpose. Stair rules prevented creation of a too-narrow spiral stair in a project modeling existing conditions. (Lots of non-compliant stuff out there needs modeling, too.) Modeling the treads, column, & balusters as generic family was easy. Railing was the tricky part. The only variation encountered from the tutorial was that TWO profile circles were needed on planes orthoganal to the spline tangent. Otherwise it produced "horn" shapes, skinny in the middle and fat on the ends. Using the same dimensional parameter for both profiles worked perfectly.
I can't think of a functional use for this for my workflow, but it's cool regardless. I didn't know about adaptive components so I'll definitely be looking into them further, thanks!
I noticed that the spiral had a variable thickness after changing it to 40mm. Is there a way to obtain uniform thickness throughout? Maybe by making a blend where all points of the path are tied to the same parameter?
In the family editor of adaptive component, I would place 2 circles on that spline (before you have created any 3D form). Place your circles on the start and end point, give them both a Diameter parameter and done! Just remember to draw your circles on planes perpendicular to that spline line and you're good
Your tutorials and ur patience in delivering it is awesome!😐😄

Your the best. I'm really learning a lot from you

as always, awesome tutorial, thank you very much
u r best ever I've been seen it
Your way of explaining very nice..thanks
I learned a lot from your videos.
Thanks! I thought it would be simpler than AutoCAD. Thanks!
Thanks so much for the concept but can I use it to create a barbed wires family
Is there any way to create a shrinking spiral? I’m trying to model the ramp in the Reichstag
We can change it to make a ramp too thanks man just what i need for my project 🙏
how to change materials of the spiral for example i want wood finish so it looks like tree
?
Awesome!
Thus, we tried to model the fences, but it is a pity that the length does not count automatically.

@@5wiadro Read this only after I'd figured out the same solution.
Please dynamo lesson :)
i cant tap adaptive spile on cylinder point, why????
Could you make a video on how to create skate park ?
Can I buy "subscription to all courses" through my debit card, instead of credit card?????
plz make a video on revit project conversion on lumion
didnt work with me
the spiral isnt detecting the nodes
Everything worked until I had to load the family into the project it won’t load it :(
Arhh, didn't work for me "can't create adaptive spiral". Damn you Revit!
