I'm currently upgrading 2 turntables (cartridge) have just this week mounted a ortofon 2m bronze on a project rpm 1 & will be mounting the Ania on my P6 next couple of weeks. Really enjoying the bronze & looking forward to listening to the Ania ( my first moving coil) really enjoy your reviews 👍
"super agile in the grooves"....Thank you sir for your interesting and peaceful review! I am now happier that I ordered a Rega Ania for my Rega P8. Up to now the cartridge has been a Rega Exact 2 connected to a Trigon Vanguard II phono preamplifier. The amplifier being YBA Passion 300.
I was able to find a good used Ania with approximately 10 hrs of use on it to replace the Exact on my P6. I`m looking forward to receiving it and trying it out. Thank you for your review.
@@analogholic_reviews thank you. 😊 My Exons came with a Cursa 3 preamp and though the musical detail was quite nice, I found the voices were too high pitch for my ears. A friend recommended that I look into a good used Audio Research tube preamp and I found this nice SP14 with a single JJ tube and it sounds wonderful to my ears! I sold the Cursa 3 and never looked back.
@@analogholic_reviews I received my Ania and set it up on my P6 and I have to say that I am well pleased! I was able to acquire an older Rega Fono MC MK1 for a good price and the combination is fantastic!
Hi I've mentioned in your other videos how much l "hated" this cartridge but - your review on it was EXCELLENT! It's rare for me to take interest in something I have a negative opinion on - but the captivating way you present your videos keep me watching.. & learning. In saying this I would only "entertain" a Rega Ania Pro MC as, I feel the vital tip on it warrents the price point & would give someone like me the performance I'm use to(I either own or have owned or had extensive experience with quality low to mid priced cartridges). Maybe the Ania pro could make it's way into one of your videos as there isn't that many reviews on it right now. Keep up the great work my friend.
Ok, so MC is better than MM. I think you are saying, generally. I’m sure you;re right, I have no idea and you have obviously studied this subject. Tell me one thing? Why are the MC carts so damned expensive? It’s just a stylus, after all. I want a better cart for an RP 3, which is why I’m here. I’m a new subber, by the way. Thank you for your help!
Hello! I just installed Ania on my RP3 and the cardridge seems way bigger than Elys 2 so the needle is touching 180g vinyl before I even drop it down. You didn't run into this problem?
I am considering purchasing the Ania for my P8. I currently have an Exact. Have you experience any inner groove distortion with the Ania? I’ve read some complaints of this happening with some Ania users. Your input would be appreciated!
Hello Russel, I have the Ania (not pro) and my experience with the P8 + Ania was devoid of any IGD. Presentation was detailed, sophisticated and thoroughly enjoyable!
I had some problems with two Exact cartridges so I upgraded to the Ania about three months ago (P3). I echo your comments about the detail and it certainly is not as warm as the Exact. At the time I pondered the Ania Pro but I was buying a new Fono MC stage and a PSU so I could not go to the higher end cartridge. Have you reviewed the Ania Pro recently as I would like your thoughts on that one? Regards
Just curious I am in the market for an RP6 with the Ania ctg. I want to also get the Vincent PHO701 preamp. Will the pairing of the tube amp bring back some warmth plus give detail or is it defeating the purpose of the ania ctg. Many thanks for your help. 🙏
Good question. I'm not familiar with the vincent phono pre. IMHO and experience I avoid tubed phonostages, esp the ones designed for gain around 12Ax7. While inexpensive, they just have a higher noise floor. I really suggest you seek a well implemented SS phono preamp that has a low noise floor. P3 + Ania is fantastic sounding with a MoFi studiophono . Just my humble suggestion.
@@analogholic_reviews also do u reckon the rp3 will do the job just as well as the rp6? I don’t want to buy something more expensive if it does a similar job just for the sake of saying I have an rp6. You know what I mean?
@@cypher4689 the difference b/w rp3 & rp6 is essentially the alum subplat. Subtle but not a startling performance jump. I really think a substantial performance increase will come from going Planar 3 since it has the improved RB330 tonearm and the addition of neo PSU really elevates the performance significantly. Again, my IMHO stick with good SS phono and IME the MoFi studiophono ROCKS!
I was just thinking about getting an Ania today for my P6 and I came across your video. Keep the videos coming. They’re great!
Thank you for the encouragement Eric. I enjoy making the videos and comments like yours make it rewarding! I hope to step up to a P6 sometime soon.
You sir are very articulate and explain very well! Thank you for this excellent review!

I actually have not heard the pro. I will try and get one for review.
Can you post a link to you fitting the ania cartridge please. I can't find it. Thanks.
