Hmm.. typically open metal headboard doesn't provide enough support especially with windows behind it. The idea is to create something solid behind your head, supporting you while you are asleep. Solid headboard represents support.
I have a brick fire surround which is actually very boring , the chimney isn't working now we took the chimney down, there is a solid wood mantlepiece above the fireplace, it is in the north east corner what colour would be suitable to paint the bricks thanks the rest of the room is painted gentle bluey/ green which is nice

I am very sorry to hear this. It's hard for me to give you a good answer because it is very personal and it depends on how your husband died. If he was sick for a while, the mattress absorbs the energy and emotions of pain and suffering. I would suggest to change the mattress, pillows and the rest of the bedding. But if he died suddenly, it's a bit different. The environment didn't absorb the energy in the same way. In any case a Space Clearing might be beneficial. sending healing thoughts ❤

I would probably use a warm off white, maybe cream on the bricks, whichever works best with the main color.
