Please watch NEW NIGHTMARE!!
Watch Freddy vs. Jason because it directly follows in the story following Freddy's Dead
I don't think it was the same Brian May. From what I've read, this Brian was an Australian composer who passed away in 97. He did make music for the Mad Max series.
42:50 The last part of the movie was 3D.
Wes Craven's A New Nightmare and Freddy vs. Jason won't disappoint you like this one did.
I'd love to see Chucky & Freddie battle insults.
Love, love, LOVE New Nightmare! Can't wait to see the reaction!
@jfarnsworth75 AGREED!
Well, they have to watch the Friday the 13th movies before they watch Freddy vs Jason
New Nightmare is the best of the sequels.
I never realized that Freddy's dead is a Father's Day movie until you framed dream child as a Mother's Day movie.
Ha ha, the first time I saw this movie was on Father's Day! Definitely had no idea then that it was a Father's Day movie ... not that I would have watched it with either of my fathers or anything, LOL.
Carlos' nightmare scene was easily the saving grace of this movie. Also, Freddy's adoptive dad was played by Alice Cooper
I may be wrong, but I think Robert Englund himself said it's his favorite Freddy kill in the franchise, and I remember seeing Alice Cooper when I first saw the movie and laughing at how wild it was.
Him opening that huge road map is such a pre-smart phone moment of terror
And that map probably works better than the GPS sometimes, sheesh. I've discovered so many places I didn't even know existed ... but the Lyft app did! 🙄
@@itscarriebombthere is a reason I still plan my road trips using a rand macnally atlas. Though I miss the days you could buy a map at any gas station.
@@markcarpenter6020 Just make sure Freddy stays out of your atlas, LOL! Happy road tripping!
@@itscarriebomb lol I haven't went on one yet this summer but I'm looking forward to it now that I have a bike with an automatic transmission. Working a clutch and gearshift was a lot of work after my stroke.
*The end was originally in 3D.* ♥️💙🕶️😎
Watched this in the theater. 41:53 When Yaphet Kotto gave her the glasses it was the time for the audience to put *their* 3D glasses. I think the screen even said, “put on glasses now.” 😂 👓🕶️😎
freddy was trapped in springwood he went into her body in order to break the barrier allowing him to get the the rest of the world
Johnny Depp made his way to return to place where his career began.
The cameo was serendipitous because he just wrapped filming Cry-Baby & Edward scissorhands, He came to the set.
This was indeed the final film in the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET Franchise until Wes Craven's New Nightmare was released and received positive reviews upon release as it was a very meta horror film.
Freddy vs Jason
New nightmare was Scream before Scream
Not really. New Nightmare is unique.
This is the final film in the main series. New Nightmare is its own thing and FvJ is just a fun crossover that doesn’t really follow the continuity of either franchise.
@@rmhartman New Nightmare was basically Wes Cravens original plan for Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors but Newline said no they wanted to keep Freddy in the dream world! And as for the second film in the franchise. Nightmare on Queer Street 2? Wes Craven had nothing to do with that movie as he originally wanted the original to be a stand alone film and believe it or not wanted it to have a happy ending. A similar situation would take place during the production of Deadly Friend were Wes originally wanted it to be a sci fi supernatural love story. But when test audiences booed and said where's the blood and horror he is best known for? He went back and recut the movie and added more blood, horror and gore. The ending where Samantha attacks and kills Paul was supposed to be a dream sequence. 🎩🧤🤖🎥
Anytime I use apple map I always randomly say “the map says we’re fucked”🤣🤣
Lame.....ur a big time lame
Roxy scaring Tara at right moments is truly priceless
You’re welcome 😜
No problem loving the channel and all of reaction and clothing line is amazing already got first I hope Roxy & Tara you both have a clothing line coming out sooner or later
Can’t wait till you two watch New Nightmare.
we will probably see their reaction next Sunday!
Can’t wait for New Nightmare next week, Wes is back and it’s one of the best of the franchise. Lisa Zane is Billy Zane’s sister and when she puts on the glasses it was supposed to be in 3D. The last sequence was a gimmick.
We showed up late to the theater, missed the instructions, and watched the first 15 minutes with the glasses on... I was 10... that one's on Mom.
@@EvHervey was 11 myself was my first 3D movie in theaters
"we're well over an hour into this movie, so this is the movie"
Well said.
Lmao
Also Freddy needed his daughter so he could kill outside of Springwood. That's why when he jumped into her head and they drove past the border the greenscreen effect exploded away, and his line in her dream "Every town has an Elm Street." implies that he can enter anyone's dreams now.
Freddy’s Dead was the first the Elm Street movie I saw in a theater. My mom took me to see it. I was 6 years old at the time. We watched the movie in 3D. I was very young when I first watched the older Freddy movies on TV. Great seeing Roxy and Tara watching all these movies.
Every franchise back then had to have one 3D sequel by law 😁
I saw it when I was four. Not sure how I convinced my mom to take me but there we were.
This is the closest ive came to rewatching this movie after i did the first time like 8 years ago, and its already been too soon 😂
They have to watch all Jason movies now then watch Freddie vs Jason
Nah you don't have to see all of those.
@@sproductionsinc I do agree because of the ending of Jason Goes to Hell (1993). Then New Nightmare comes out in 1994.
It’s always best to watch movies in chronological order of release date, but they won’t
@@shocksix Damn i was not going to agree with you but your argument is just lol
*Freddy
@@MarioBario auto correct 💀
according to wiki it's a different Brian may. "Brian May (28 July 1934 - 25 April 1997) was an Australian film composer and conductor who was a prominent figure during the Australian New Wave. He is perhaps best known for his scores to Mad Max and Mad Max 2.[1]"
Yup, he also did the music for Dr. Giggles (1992) and many Aussie movies (Turkey Shoot, Thirst)
Try best known for being in the band Queen lolol
@@Staley38 Nope, different guy.
@@beatlesnqueen good example of making sure to check more then 1 source lol, i stand corrected! 🤣
So, it says "10 years from now".. however.. the timeline only works if you consider it 10 years from when the first movie takes place.. which puts this movie the year it came out, so the music, pop culture references, the clothing style, and the town being back to normal for FvJ all actually makes sense
The Friday franchise jumps all over the place too. I think by the time you get to part 8 it’s in the 2000s or something. It’s a movie, it’s not the real world. So it’s an alternate universe where the the 2000s is still like the 80s lol. Also, New Nightmare takes place in the “real world” and Jason X takes place after FvJ, so final nightmare and final friday are the last ones before FvJ and it makes no attempt to explain how Freddy or Jason got out of hell after their “final” movies.
A Freddy Got Fingered reaction would be absolutely insane 😂
And Drop Dead Fred…
I remember renting all these movies as a teen and then later bought the Elm Street VHS collection. Years later I decided to watch Freddy's Dead and realized the VHS was blank. I didn't notice because I never bothered to rewatch this movie.
This was looney tunes. Has its moments but overall it lost any of its darkness. Freddy became too silly and Wes Craven changed all that with the next installment. He got things back the way they should’ve been. My favorite part of this movie was the goo goo dolls song opening lol
Again definitely appreciate this channel showing appreciation for slasher films. Awesome job by Roxy and Tara!!
I didn't know until the Horror conventions that Lisa Zane is Billy Zane's sister.
I always figured they were siblings because they kinda look related
@@mosesjones5376 I just never thought about it until recently.
My dad took me to see this in the theaters when i was 5yrs old. Its one of my only memories i have of him. We had 3D glasses. My dad is still alive. He just not in my life anymore. I have daddy issues😂
I love this movie
There is a fan theory out there that goes a long way to explain why the town is the way it is. And that's through jacob.
The theory goes that sometime during Jacob's early childhood, he started dreaming about freddy again as a toddler/child - inheriting both alice's natural daydreaming powers and kristen's "pulling people in" powers, the tiny little guy had no control or awareness of what he was doing and ended up being a tool for freddy to kill all the kids at the local school... driving the parents mad.
Alice might've learned how to control both her powers and the powers of her dead friends she absorbed - but jacob would've been pulling people in awake and asleep before he could walk.
Interesting concept. I read on the elm street fan page Alice moved away from springwood shortly after having Jacob. Glad she had a happy ending but I'm still not over her not being in freddys dead and freddy vs Jason 😢😂
I love Roxy’s raspy voice and Tara’s high voice. Perfect combo.
"YOU FORGOT THE POWERGLOVE!!!!"
lol I was bummed that was edited out too
I love the Power Glove. Its so bad.
21:26 Tara is like,,, “this movie draggin’, I need some coffee” ☕️ 😂
"The map says we're fucked!" This was my introduction to Freddy Krueger when I was a kid (outside of the Freddy vs Jason promotional stuff like the weigh in) so the closing gave quite a bit away but it wasn't a problem.
My theory is that he was killing everyone from the first film to Dream Child to show the parents how it felt to have their kids taken away.
& I'm pretty sure he wanted his daughter back so he could kill her for telling on him so he transported himself into her subconscious after offing John so he could manipulate her dreams a lot easier.
I do wish they would have brought back or mentioned Alice, whether she survived or if Freddy actually got to her and Yvonne
It seems to me that the only way to defeat Freddy is to pull him out of his dreams and hand him over to custody.
You would think that, yes; but according to almost every stuntman I've ever seen talking about favorite stunts, anything where they get tossed around - whether it's in a fight where they throw themselves into things, or the actors literally flipping them end ove end, or wires pulling all over the place into the air or getting launched off of springboards - they LOVE that shit. Whoever the stunt guy was who rolled down that hill.....he was having the best day ever. You can actually see where he did stop, but then gets up only enough to keep throwing himself down the hill. That dude was living his best life in that moment.
The ticket taker at the beginning of the movie is the producer of it, Robert Shay
Yes Roxy “purge!” and Tara “ring the bell, ring the bell” (and yes missed opportunity Roxy) are back!!❤️❤️🙌🏽always enjoy when getting notification..the chemistry with you two ladies❤…yeah a let down this movie
YAY!
These reactions are such a blast. I’m in the intro and I’m already grinning like a fool. It’s sad that it’s nearing its end, but awesome we don’t have to wait long for these! More scream queens duo franchises!!!
Tom Arnold was 1 of FAVORITE 'Freddy' Cameos 😂
BUT
The Johnny Depp 'Brain on Drugs' 90s parody is the BEST
That final countdown intro lol
You 2 provide so much joy!
Man, I really love those end credits
That "Awake not" at the end of the intro still gives me goosebumps! Its so haunting
The movie starts just like a Freddy film in a dream.
7:14 It's not Brian May from Queen. The Brian May that did the music for this movie died April 25th 1997.
When he seemed to go into his daughter's body, he was just hitching a ride out of Springwood. She is his blood so he was able to do that, that's why he sent the guy to go get her and bring her back, so she could bring him to a new town and victim pool
When they brought up the 3D glasses that was when we were to put them on in the theaters it was in 3D at that point. I remember.
Lots of people on this channel been tired and exhausted or ill lately. Hopefully y'all aren't getting too overworked just for us!
The reason her 3d glasses disappeared was because when the movie came out in theaters you put your 3d glasses on when she does and the rest of the movie was 3d .. that's why the explosion and the way it's shot is so in your face.. this movie was shot with 3d in mind.
"Springwood, water tower, donuts."
Never change Roxy.
You are a national treasure!!!
🤣💀🤣💀🤣💀
This actually is the final Elm Street movie in the main series, so the title doesn’t lie. New Nightmare is its own thing, and FvJ is just a fun crossover that doesn’t really follow the continuity of either franchise.
Love love love both of you. Rewatching these movies feels so much more tolerable this way 😂 Also loving the Child’s Play run you two are doing. Really hope the theme continues with other horror franchises. REALLY hope you eventually get around to Freddy vs Jason as well.
28:00 the adults in the town are not attacked by Freddy, they are just driven insane because Freddie has killed all the children in the town.
Every time I rewatch this movie I be like this is a good movie this is the perfect comedy like straight up plot to a cartoon, slapstick comedy not even a horror
I actually enjoyed every entry of this franchise minus the reboot. The Evil Dead and Chucky franchises are also some of my fave franchises.
This Freddy movie was the first 3D movie I saw in theaters as a kid. I loved this movie. Freddy really had fun in this movie. He gave me more horror Bugs Bunny vibes in this movie. I hope you ladies get to see Freddy vs Jason.
I saw it at the drive in lol
@@supermodeldiva1977 that’s awesome, so they had 3D in drive in. That’s crazy 😳👍🤯👍❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
The Reel Shejects! Love that shit. Haha. Please keep going with more horror flicks. I love you two together. Such great content. Love the video.
Demon fishes is a lot more wholesome than what I thought they were.
The movie did have great music selections. Love the intro by Goo Goo Dolls, "I'm awake now" at the intro.
I still have my 3D glasses from when I watched this film in theaters. 🤣
Damn i needed this today! Love yall sooooo much. I cant wait till you guys hopefully start Friday the 13th.
If they do those, they should look at them for what they are: gritty B movies that Paramount was embarrassed over. I like the 80's F13 movies, but definitely don't read too much into them... The people who made them didn't so we shouldn't either!
You know I haven't watched the Nightmare on Elm Street movies in quite a long time, but with Roxy and Tara, I am remembering how incredibly weird this franchise is. It's still a cool movie. But Freddy has drastically gone down my list for the best horror movie character.
Tara and roxy making me hyped for the 2010 reaction it sounds funny 😂
Oh its gonna be a big one lol
The only good thing about this film was your reaction! 😂 I've never seen you two so disengaged and disappointed. You made this one fun! ❤❤ I wish that you would start the "Friday The 13th" films before the last two films in the "Nightmare" series.
I have so so so enjoyed watching the Nightmare movies with yall! Grew up on them. You make all the mistakes you need and we will giggle lots.
The dream demons being reduced to little fishies had me in stitches.
This was my first introduction to Freddy Krueger. I loved this movie as a kid. I first saw this movie at my cousin's house along with The People Under the Stairs, my uncle rented it on VHS for us.
Hey! I 'm French, and ii' m in France and really like your channel.
I like Roxy and her friend :)
I don't understand everything but it's kinda cool
This 6th movie is not so bad but not the best.
It's a good final chapter.
Freddy's dead is a looney tunes cartoon essentially, watch Wes Craven's new nightmare definitely a way better film.
she puts on the glasses because the movie was 3d after that in theatres
The only time I turned the volume down, is when it was Freddy holding a chalkboard and dragging his knives on it
Wes Craven's New Nightmare is a MUST see
When tough girl's actress was a little older she played Spike's girlfriend in 976-EVIL.
Another underrated gem of a film. 💎 Along with the sequel, The Astral Factor. The first one was directed by Robert Englund.
@@MrBoyYankee Only seen the second one once. I remember the evil psychic dude pissing me off in that good way you actually kind of want the villain to do, but the rest of it being kind of a mess.
I haven't actually seen 976-EVIL, but I want to. Is it good?
@itscarriebomb puts your average bullied teen nerd, Hoax (Stephen Geoffreys)
From a broken home. Although a straight A student, Hoax deals with personal trauma. "A square peg round hole scenario." With a religious zealot of a mom. The school gang, in which his cousin, the reluctant hero, bad boy Spike (Patrick O'Brian) leads. Who pales in comparison when it comes to his cousin. Until Hoax reaches out and touches the devil. When he calls the horrorscope hotline.
All hell breaks loose. It's up to Spike to save his cousins soul. Before it's lost in eternal damnnation.
It's great, I love it. @@itscarriebomb
Fun fact; the lady who gets sucked out of the plain was originally supposed to be played by The Great Divine. Sadly she passed before shooting.
Wes Craven’s New Nightmare is so unique and original. I can’t wait for you guys to see it.
Still blows my mind that Rachel Talalay directed this movie. She is really talented and has directed some of my favourite Doctor Who episodes.
I remember the first time I watched this movie. I was 8 years old and my brother was shot earlier that night and my mom left me and my other siblings at a friends house. I kept crying throughout the movie.
These two Make my day everytime!!! Even though this movie isn't the best you guys made it 100 times better watching it with you LOL
A lot of questions they have about this movie, they'd know the answers to if they were paying attention to the movie. This is what happens when you talk over plot points. Freddy wanted his daughter back because he killed everyone in the town and he needed a blood relative to get out of the town he was trapped in. He used her like a bus. Once they left Springwood, Freddy was free and clear. Katherine wasn't being terrorized because she wasn't in Springwood. He couldn't leave the town. Just like a ghost can't leave their haunting. Freddy's haunting was Springwood. That's why Nancy survived for so long. She didn't come back to Springwood until Part 3
Anyone else think it was a call back to part one when she walks into the house yelling "Mother" like Nancy did. And the front door is blue with that curved window up above. Maybe that's why she doesn't remember living in that house cuz she thinks it's the one she grew up in. I'm getting granular about this lol
Brian May the composer is NOT the same Brian May from Queen. This Brian May is the composer of Mad Max 1 and 2.
The guy screaming in the beginning and it cuts to the Tom Cruise scream 😂
24:50 Please make the “Purge” scream a thing for horror movies. Even for non-Purge ones haha.
Not the same Brian May. the film composer is an Australian guy that passed away not too long after this movie.
I figured that out by the end
@@roxystriar I figured you would, lol. I was just following the prompts on the screen in the beginning to comment.
@@matthewbertram4312love that for us!
Wes Cravens New Nightmare is one of the best in the franchise. Can’t wait to see you two watch it!
So excited for your new nightmare reaction ❤
Seen this in the theater in 3D. Near the end of the movie, I snatched the 3D glasses off because I thought Freddy was gonna swallow me.
The Brian May in the credits of this movie isn’t actually the Queen guitarist. It’s an Australian film music composer who just happens to have the same name
I remember seeing this at a late night showing at the cinema with a couple of my college friends. It didn't come out until 92' in the UK. It was the first 18 rated flick I saw on the big screen.
1:05:42 She wore 3D glasses in the dream world. There were many moments of things flying towards the camera that should have clued you in that this was a 3D film. The ending with Freddy exploding.
So not sure if you guys have figured it out, but apparently Freddy went through every last child of elm Street and left the Adults all alone. so NONE of the adults ever had other children for fear of losing them. Hence Springwood became deserted and Amnesia Boy believes he's the last one. BUT as the movie shows us he's actually NOT the last child of elm street.
this is the first Freddy movie I was old enough to see in theatres, I was 6, and the 3-D was the most amazing thing I had ever seen.
The opening song is I'm Awake Now from The Goo Goo Dolls absolute legends.
🤘🏻🎙🎸🥁🤟🏻
He couldn't leave springwood without her
"Every town...has an ELM STREET."
Can't wait to see the reboot reaction, those deer-in-the-headlights looks!
I didn't know there were two musical Brian Mays. "Freddy's Dead" was probably the most comedic of the series.
Great reaction as always. I can’t wait for you to react to New Nightmare. So good and ahead of its time.
Wow you two talked right over that awesome title card!
Ah yes, the redheaded stepchild of the series, love or hate it.
The Brian May that does the music for THIS Freddy movie is NOT the one from the band Queen
The Brian May that did the music on THIS movie was an Australian Composer who is best known for the scores of Mad Max 1&2
The dream police in one of the previous drafts were going to be the ghosts of the Dream Warriors and in either this or in a comic, Nancy was supposed to be the protector of Dreams. This movie could've been so good!
