  • In terms of image quality and latency for gaming, you couldn't ask for more from the X3000i at this price point. If gaming is your primary use case, and you need that extra brightness for some daytime use, it's a great buy that you'll definitely be happy with. Just pair it with some decent speakers, please.

    I'm looking to use this for back yard movie nights on a 130-150 inch screen, would this be good for that?

      I'd recommend something with a better built-in audio system, something like the XGIMI AURA - www.makeuseof.com/xgimi-aura-review/ . However, any kind of porjector outdoor will be difficult unless it's dark, just to be clear.

    How accurate is the projector calculator from benq? If I punch in my numbers I get a screen width of 2,5 meter (projector to screen distance is 2,8 meter (2876 mm)). I don’t think that is to small with that viewing distance, or will I be disappointed?

    • @MakeUseOf
      @MakeUseOf  Год назад

      I'd recommend the calculator at projectorcentral instead - www.projectorcentral.com/BenQ-X3000i-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc . Using the same distance, i see 2.5 as the diagonal, not width, so a bit smaller.

      @@MakeUseOf Thanks but if I use the optical zoom slider and set it to wide I also get a screen width of 2,5 meter. I think its sufficient for me.

    is this better than UHz50 ? I am getting both for same price. I am very confused.

    • @MakeUseOf
      @MakeUseOf  Год назад +1

      I haven't tried that, so while I can't directly recommend one or the other, the specs are very similar as far as I can tell, with a low gaming latency, similar throw ratio. The UHZ50 is a laser projector though, while this is LED. But from specs alone, I could go either.

    Sony laser line of projectors is fast enough. 13ms at 1080p/120. It does lack HDMI 2.1 so that sucks but otherwise they are nice. Much pricier than the Benq though.

    "A very reasonable $2000."
    I'm done.
    And as soon as I come off of that thought, AND "not without its misgivings?"

    • @MakeUseOf
      @MakeUseOf  Год назад +3

      $2000 is good for a low latency 4K60 gaming projector, though - mid-range, if anything. The best cost upwards of $3000. For 1080p, you can get away with $500-1000, or for 4KHDR with high latency not for gaming you could go $1000-$1500. I've yet to find the perfect projector, so it's just about whether those misgivings are something you can personally forgive!

    You should Not be Reviewing Projectors!!! Your video is just one Long Rant about throw ratio. You incorrectly blame BenQ for lying about the throw ratio. The throw ratio is 100% as advertised.
    This Projector was never marketed as an ultra short throw Projector.
    The image size you have is nearly filling your whole wall.
    The room you are in is way too small for the image size you have. The width of your room is less than 8 feet wide. It looks like you are sitting less than 3 feet away from the screen which is completely insane!!! For the image size you have in that room you need to sit at least 10 feet away from the screen. Which is impossible to do in the room you are in. You need to reduce the image size not increase it.
    🫣🤪🤡

      Did you watch a different video? At no point do I accuse BenQ of lying. Quite the opposite, here's the time stamp where I literally say they AREN'T lying and that the sales page accurately list the ratio you can expect - ruclips.net/video/3gkzE68XqtU/видео.html

    • @JesusSavesSinners
      @JesusSavesSinners Год назад

      @MakeUseOf I watched your whole video. You clearly said repeatedly that BenQ's advertised Throw Ratio was incorrect.
      You complained about this over and over again.
      You said you could Not get the Picture you wanted because of the bad Throw Ratio, because of the design of the Projector.
      The only problem is with You, Not BenQ.
