Hello Gamma Phi chapter. I’m currently rushing at the Eta Psi chapter at UMD and have been loving every second of the PM process. Every time I hear this song I get chills and it’s currently my favorite Phi Mu Alpha song. Love you Brothers!
Wonderful! How did I get here? Well, back in 1989 I bought a bunch of old music books from a 92-yr old violinist, in Hollywood CA, and his name was Benjamin Rosen. He ran Globe music shoppe. Anyway, some of the books have Ralph Howard Pendleton's address stickers on the surface of the books. He was one of the founding members of the original Phi Mu Alpha SInfonia. He was a treasurer back when it started in 1899. He was born in 1870 and died in 1945. I wanted to see if the organization was still around. I see they are alive and strong. That's great, beautiful singing!
Gamma Phi Alumnus here!!!(Delta Alpha clas, Fall '94) So glad to see my baby brothers on here repping and making us proud!!! I try to watch any video that pops up here, so keep them coming!!
Every time I hear this it reminds me of my time at the 2022 NatCon, and having 30 - 40 brothers all haphazardly singing together following the Men of Song concert; it was humid, hot, and all of us were still in concert blacks but damn was it fun.
I’m a part of the newly reactivated Chi Chapter and I told them a dream where Metallica did a cover of Night Shadows Falling. One guys said the same of Brother to Brother so I looked it up, great song. OAS, AAS. LLS.
Just a note this was an actual church song from the churches of christ. I being a member of both primary with the black congregations. I no longer have the original lyrics but listen to the words and you can tell. Nice work guys, OAS, AAS, LLS
@@vincentbwilliams you're a member of the church? and know the my brothers in Christ, who sung this often, borrowed it from my frat? could be. Since it was an HBCU it could have been some borrowing. if that is true I would strongly believe one of the you men worshipped with the CofC, the sound and flavor are home grown. the problem that is not the only song Heard and a few you of them you can find in our song folders. We would make a capella arrangements from other congregations but not from the secular sources. I will respectfully disagree.
@@kennethburns6064 although it does a have a congregational sound and rhythm, the lyrics and arrangement originated at ALABAMA STATE UNIVERSITY. I am a member of the Delta Beta chapter of PHI MU ALPHA. God bless.
You guys sound great! I'm a member of the Rho Chi chapter in Province 17, and I love this song! Glad to see so many brothers enjoying the harmony. Keep it up! -Jokiir
