I love your art. You are so amazingly talented! Thank you for the storage idea. I think I'm gonna store my stamps the same way. Like with like. It will make it easier to choose between the different styles of the same type. Putting all the leaves together, all the flowers together, all the houses together, all the furniture together, etc.
YOU got me started on AI stamps years ago (the 2015 Arbor, thank you!) and I love them. I have the new sets you showed and would greatly appreciate seeing what you do with them. Finally this year I was able to make myself break up the sets to store them as you suggest. I wrote the set number on the back of the stamps with a Sharpie and keep the printed inserts in a deeper (wood mount) stamp case as a reference.
Thank you for the fabulous tutorial Sandy! I only have one AI stamp set & I haven't used it. I love the way they look, but felt like I'd never be able to do it. You've explained things so well, I'm going to break out of my self imposed non-usage & give it a whirl. Good idea to practice on a sheet of paper too. Can't tell you how many times I've thrown perfectly good card stock away that I've messed up because I didn't practice first. Live & learn. Hopefully... lol
What you did in 10 minutes would take me 3 days and 1/2 as nice. You're so talented. When you added the water under the bridge, it was like I saw Jesus.
I dont mean to be so off topic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost my login password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
@Hunter Jameson Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Love these done with Tombow markers. I have all of the marker that where being used last year for Ali Art Impression but now I will have to think about the tombow markers as well. They seem to add a lot of different colors . Love the way they work on these. Thanks for sharing beautiful cards and your talent. Have a great week.
Thank you for a wonderful tutorial regarding my favourite watercolour brushes and stamp company. I had bought tombows years ago when you would just colour stamps and stamp them no water at all just a huff to keep them moist to stamp with them. I was so excited when I watched a video a couple if years ago showing how else they could be used
Love the video! I have always wondered how the water color stamps and markers work together to give you the watercolor look, and now I know. Thank you❤️
TFS. I'm very glad that AI has now started using the Tombow markers. I chose them after listening to a lot of reviews. I have a small space & adding another brand of the same type of marker was a nonstarter.
Fascinating! And beautiful. How have I not seen your AI videos before? Must root around on your channel to find what I’ve missed. 😉 I can’t wait to try this technique with my (woefully underutilized) Tombow markers, even though I do not (yet) have any AI stamps.
Exquisite watercoloring tutorial on Ai & Tombow Watercolor Markers, LOVED IT!!! Thanks for sharing your time and creativity, it’s appreciated very muchly!!! Blessings & Hugs!!!
I love my tombows also! I recently added copics to my life so it’s bwen awhile since I played with them. This video was so fun to watch. I had no idea the watercolor stamp line existed. What a fun concept!
Hi Sandy! Thank you for another helpful video. Experimenting is the key as you say. Maybe your other viewers noticed that the Tombow makers are not as "juicy" as the Marvy which is what Bonnie Krebs uses in her videos for AI. It's impossible to do 4 to 5 generation stamping like Bonnie does with Marvy when she stamps the foliage. I didn't want to buy more markers just for this purpose. So I just re-ink the foliage stamps. It works! I love their new release, too, and your finished cards today. (juicy might not be the right word, but it gets my point across)
@@poppydarling86 - Just went to check and you are absolutely right! Must have changed in the last 2 months. My guess is the Marvy are too hard to get ahold of? I couldn't find them anywhere around me or online.
@@JeanneJordanexteach good detective work! What's weird is when I noticed she wasn't using the Marvy anymore I checked and they're still being sold in the AI shop… maybe just remaining inventory? I'm glad I got my sets when I did! I just haven't found any other water-based markers hold the color and keep the fine lines in the AI stamps as well once you add water.
I’m betting there are business reasons why she switched brands. And I’m not gonna hold that against her, because I still love my Tombows ❤️ Use whatcha got 😍
Never a marathon when you’re having fun Sandy! I loved your bicycle at the end. I have been a little nervous of my AI markers and stamps. Thank you for showing me a good way [ excuse, really] to jump right in. 🌹Rosie of Oz 🇦🇺 PS: has your good friend Kristie (and a person who inspires me everyday) got the pink ruler? Such soft, lovely work! And I just love those rulers too. But are those AI Tombow sets new colors. I ask because I've invested quite a bit on the original 90+ set along with all the stuff....it be great to know......
You are a brave woman. I like the idea of storing like with like, however, many of the stamps are so small that I'm concerned with accidentally losing some. I always label die & stamp sets with how many items are in the set. OCD? Guilty as charged :)
Well I mean AI had Marvy markers, than they switch to tombow, and I see that now you are showing a new AI watercolor pen? That why I'm confused! @@SandyAllnock1
I started with Marvy markers but do have Tombow too, but I think the Marv blend and stamp better. Just my preference. QUESTION? Do you use the rough or smooth side of the water color paper? I have the same kind that you use for paper. Thanks.
This looks like so much fun! Going to try it as I have a few of AI stamps. Are the Tombows shown in your video new colours or are the included in the large set? TFS!
Last question...I've tried using Tombow markers to color the stamp (as opposed to using a stamp pad) with less than successful results. Is there a certain technique to use or is it because you are using the Tombow AI watercolor markers? Thank you for any assistance!
I'm a little confused, Sandy. The initial markers that you showed were labeled Art Impressions Watercolor Markers, but then you say (about 1/2 way through the video) that you are using Tombow markers. Did you start with one and then switch over? Or did you just show the AI markers, but then use the Tombows?
Ok...I am officially confused! After I posted below, I did more research....so these AI Watercolor Markers ARE Tombow markers? Is there a difference between Tombow sets & the AI sets, aside from colors? Why do companies do this to us? Had Marvy's for years and most are dried out now, so starting to rebuild. A tutorial on what's really what might be helpful!
I bought a bunch of Marvy Le Plume markers to go along with my AI stamps -- sure wish I knew why AI have now gone over to Tombow instead! She doesn't seem to be using the old markers at all in her newer videos. I still think the Marvy are more pigmented and do well with those AI stamps so I'm going to stick with them.
Hi Marilyn, I was confused at first too. I thought AI used to sell the Marvy in sets, but I guess not anymore. These are definitely Tombow. Poppy Darling (another person commenting here) pointed out to me that on the AI videos, Bonnie Krebs is NOW using Tombow. She used to use Marvy, and all of the videos from 3 months ago and earlier were with Marvy as far as I can tell. I am not an expert, but I find the Tombow to be a bid dryer, meaning I can't accomplish 4-5 generation stamping with them without re-inking the stamp. But like Sandy usually says, use what you have and experiment. Lots of water based markers will work once you test them out a bit.
They used to sell the Marvy sets. I’m not sure what caused them to switch to Tombow - lots of times it’s just companies disagreeing on things, or perhaps Tombow was willing to let Bonnie brand the markers with her company name? Or Marvy didn’t want to partner? No clue. In either case I love the Tombow so I’m OK with their switch. ❤️ If you have other Tombow markers, they’re the same as these - no need to buy more.
I could watch you all day. Beautiful!
So clever. So talented. Thank you very much for all of your videos.

Not one to print out since so few printers use waterproof ink. But see charts here: sandyallnock.com/charts

Same as regular Tombow, it’s just Bonnie’s favorites in two sets.
@@SandyAllnock1 Got it! Thanks!
Sandy, do you have any idea why AI switched from Marvy to Tombow markers after all these years?
