If you don't mind physically getting in and out the truck several times a day along with a few other things that would make it comfortable for you then I think you can do it. It depends Allen. Diesel engines are good mostly for a million miles. My first truck had 600000 on it but it was a converted road truck so it was road miles. A truck could be high mileage but well taken care of, and it could be low miles but ragged out or worked 10 times harder. So the miles are a starting point but not the only thing to consider. But to answer you 300000 miles is not bad. Use this. most trucks put 50000 miles a year. so multiply the miles time the year model and you will see how many miles they were putting on it a year
Depending on what kind of work you want to specialize in. If you want to go into highway construction go with triaxle. residential and landscaping the tandem would do. I wouldnt do single axle unless you really just want to peddle around 2-3 days a week

I typically don't buy warranties but this is a major purchase and I'm sacrificing a lot to start this business and would like to negate as much risk as I can. I can finance it into the loan of the truck but do you think it's worth it? My plan is to build up a robust maintenance fund as quickly as possible. Great video! Hold a lighter to the dipstick if oil crackles it has water in it. Also every 3000-4000hrs. have a overhead done (especially Mack ) don't want to buy a cam. And pour STP in the transmission ( especially Mack ), make it shift smooth.

When changing services, like asphalt to dirt or something like that, where and how do you clean your truck for that?
Elbow grease lol. Typically most of the asphalt companies have a water hose. Then we use diesel when hauling asphalt
