As somebody who originally wanted to be a film maker but decided to major instead in the field of graphic design, I can relate. There was a film project I started all the way back in 2013 and the last time I remember working on it was in 2015. Since then, I haven't gone back to completing it and considering my new current career interest, it most likely never will. I'm glad these guys succeeded with finishing their film project and watching it is definitely worth the reward.
VICE tracks down two best friends who have spent their lives making a _Raiders of the Lost Ark_ adaptation by reenacting each scene. We caught up with them as they shot the final frames of their epic.
I have been waiting for this to come out...really inspiring to see true friends do what they really love. As a kid i remember making my own little short fun films. So this hits home with me. GO USA!!!
I was 10 when raiders came out and it was my all time favorite movie. I was 18 when the last crusade came out and I had felt like I grew up with those movies. still my favorite movies today. I have the box set sitting next to my tv as I type this.
Don't wrap them in a bag! It will degrade them faster by trapping in gases released. Paper is primarily cellulose. It degrades via thermo-oxidative degradation, acid/base hydrolysis, microbial attack, and misguided remediation effects (this case). When books degrade, the polymers in the paper break forming sugars, that form cyclic ethers. Through the process, more acid is produced. By sealing the book in a bag, the acid further concentrates, thus prolonging the cycle. These gases actually catalyze further degradation of the book. Keep it in a dark chilled room with ~5-15% humidity and preferably inert atmosphere. Don't seal it up in any way.
A friend and I made our very own Pulp Fiction,I say made, my friend left the production the moment the pawn shop scene was finished,he told me that that was the real climax to the film!
That film and its music just get a hold of people. In the 1990s, I had to plan an elaborate ceremony for a professional association. The president insisted on using Indiana Jones music, despite eye-rolls from peers. I tried for “March of the Slave Children” from the second movie Temple of Doom, but no sheet music was available for the musicians. We settled for the classic “Raiders March” theme-over and over and over ... It was still fun.
Had the good fortune of seeing this at Cinemartscentre theater in Huntington, NY. many years ago. One of the most fun communal times ever in a movie theater. ❤😂😂
Yes, but unfortunately you can't watch it for free. Here's a site where you can watch the movie without having to pay any money in order to see it. archive.org/details/RaidersOfTheLostArkTheAdaptationVhsripXvid
Sadly, I don't think these guys will be doing "Temple of Doom" or any of the other Indiana Jones movies. Just their remake of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is enough. Plus, part of the enjoyability of watching their movie comes from the fact that they were just kids trying to re-create their favorite film as a way to test their skills as filmmakers. If they remade "Temple of Doom" now in this modern age, it'd be awesome, sure, but it wouldn't have the same affect as their first film had. So, it's probably for the best not to do the other films as much as we'd want them to.
It's a cool amateur project, but it's kinda pointless......really. What's the point of imitating every single detail of a classic? You can never surpass the original by copying it.
Really? You are not a true Indiana Jones fan if you think Kingdom of the Crystal skull is the best one, and making a shot for shot remake of a 2 hour movie in 1982-1989 with your school and personal life getting in the way is pretty damn long to do, and hard.
I think they made too big a deal out of this. Every group of kids with access to a video camera in the 80's made their own version of Raiders. We did too. We never thought we were the only ones to do it.
So often people start things never to finish them, its inspiring to see these guys succeed.

Hunter O'Laughlin eh, they made a bad version of one of the greatest movies of all time

There are many people doing this kinda thing on YT nowadays. So, these guys did this back in the day with less tech. An old "Indie" film.
Man not even a fire extinguisher. Just buckets of water. Damn.
Why the fuck didn't they show their version of the face-melting scene? That's the best part of the movie.

It’s sad we don’t have movies we can recreate because there’s so much crappy directors and crappy movies
Isnt this from an episode of the Goldbergs
Now we know these kids don't have any imagination.
I Didn't know about this, how come I'm finding out about it now.
Don't I feel left out, dang
Dreams come true
Hopefully it make big bucks and good movie too.
This great they did what I wanted to be as a child and that is Indiana Jones
I like how they don't even mention kingdom of the crystal skull.
Nobody should
Most epic nerd saga I have ever seen on you tube. Lets get that movie on Netflix so I can have a watch!
now time for temple of doom

For the last 17 years, I've been making a frame by frame remake of Minority Report.
Anybody want to see it?
Yes! I would like to see your labor and determination in this shot-for-shot remake of another awesome Steven Spielberg film.
I love these crazy guys. It's a shame I wasn't allowed to be part of it.
the original "sweded" film....
anyone else think the guy looks like pat roach (randy from trailer park boys)
Kyle Newman sent me here
i preferred last crusade
Wow,how'd they set him on fire?
Where's the Just One of the Guys remake?
This is no different than what went into the making of a high-school film project. Just more ambitious. I was bored after 20 minutes

StevenGaspard for a couple of years as kids, then again for a bit as adults
It's a cool amateur project, but it's kinda pointless......really. What's the point of imitating every single detail of a classic? You can never surpass the original by copying it.
What's the point in anything, other that eating, drinking, and mating?

+Kungfoo Joey Yes to "I've got to drop the kids off at the pool" and "Go see a man about a horse" but never one about flossing LOL
HoW sad
I dont understand why you would go to all the trouble to do this. Why not make your own actual adventure script?
+Nyran Stanton cause then none of us would have cared
+Nyran Stanton It's a labor of love.

Why spend so long remaking this? Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was the best one. It had Shia Labeouf in it!
