I am a new pilot and flew in Larange Monteglin this summer as well, first time flying abroad (I'm from Sweden) and it was great watching your videos from the same place. I stayed at the same camp as well and was extremely surprised by the honking train in the middle of the night (almost shat my pants). Very educational videos Darren, I've learned a lot, thank you and please keep posting!
Lol that made me laugh about the train! I forgot about that! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video... I have some more to come - lots of editing to do from the British National Championships which were held the week after I filmed this particular vid... watch this space!
you prolly dont give a damn but does anyone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost the login password. I love any tricks you can offer me!
@Kole Terrell i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Great video Darren, reminded me of my flight from Chabre to Beaumount then out to behind the 'Volcano' (think its called St. Genis). Arrived low scrapping around on that rough ridge behind (think its Aujour/Celle) stuck thinking no where to land eventually got a couple of hundred feet decided to follow a sail plane out to East point of St Genis followed it round into sunny side, didnt get any thermals pushed west out into valley got a stonker up to 5-6 Grand gave me loads of glide back to the campsite. one of my more memorable flights. keep the vlogs going.
You're right with the place names Paul. That sounds like a bum squeaky flight... Great when you get catapulted back up though isn't it! More vids are on the way...
Ha! I see what you mean... though it might look like a single leg loop in the video, there are actually 2 separate leg loops there. And thankfully really quite comfortable. Despite appearances!
really? I've never got used to the digifly-sound. It goes all over the place, or it yells you you're in a 1m/s instead of a 4m/s. Never got the right preferences..........But Darren that was a nice vid!!
You quality for a Pilot Page since you at least once used US airspace for HG. Fill the short form and I'll get things moving. You are about the happiest gem ever showing tips in good humor manner. Cheering. USHGRS.org has mid-page button.
Excellent vid Darren, a lot of common sense spoken, well done.

Great tour of Laragne, with some comedy gold. Nice one Darren!
Infectious enthusiasm! My first big thermalling flights were from Chabre back in the eighties, and first 50 mile xc. Great place.

ok excellent, look forward to seeing them
Nice ride thanks for sharing. I did notice the single 'leg loop' and that seems to take the term 'ball buster' to a whole new level...

one of your bests thanks
Excellent Darren loved the commentary
Great commentary Darren. Love the sound of that vario!

Aha - that's your problem atlasemiel - you're using meters per second when you should be using feet per minute! ;-)
the gliding /transition/full vg videos are awesome. Make sure to have more of them in the futur :) .
thermaling is nice too but its less easy to appreciate the scenery...
Glad you enjoyed... I know what you mean and will try to add more of the gliding bits in the future. :-)
Bravo Ole Chap !!
