Fyodor definitely understands him more because like Nikolai desires for freedom and Fyodor found a way to like use those desires to use Nikolai so of course he would need to understand him. As for Sigma, I think Sigma understands him quite a bit because they both want freedom but what Sigma doesn’t understand is how Nikolai goes about it (trying to kill fyodor, torturing people, etc)

i think they both understand different parts of him, Nikolai has a lot of parts all fighting for control.
