People dont like it becuase it feels "standard", like a thousand bands have done before. Usually their songs are very distinct. I still like it though.
I thought it was Jonathan Davis (Korn) in the thumbnail. Would be such a fitting collab, because of Jonathan’s ability to mix genres, like Skindred does.
Skindred was always about experimenting, mixing and showing their own taste for each and every other genre, being ragga, dnb or dubstep. The Machine is more of a tribute to old school garage metal stuff, where it all started. And an F word to you guys saying "Its doesnt sound like Skindred", cauz bloody hell it does!
Marc Loterand yeah, I completely agree with you! If anything it shows that they are diverse in what they can do as a band and I find a lot of respect in that.
If you're doing a tribute to an already done-over-and-over sound then it isn't much experimentation. And that's fair to do it somewhere on the album but certainly not as a single.
Come on, guys, this is just Skindred having a blast and making music, just a good ol' fashioned 80's rock song, which they're allowed to do. I'm sure the rest of the album will have more of your 'rapapa pa pa boom boom wa-aa-aa's, along with some 'wub-wubz' and drop b tunings.
I don't get the "good ol' fashioned 80's rock song". what I do get is an extremely campy and awesome twist on a few genres. You have your anthem rock and your punk and your metal, but its pretty much late 90's and 2000's to my ear. Its still a good song. I won't join the hate crew on this one.
love the flavor and vibe they found to make this vocal collaboration work..not your usual skindred sort of song some might say...but this song was great..the production on the vocals was just great and the boys are just tight as always,,interesting to hear them throw a little different flavor in the mix..but keep in mind this was a collaboration and the flavor they found works for the 2 vocal styles and not over complicating things im sure made it allot easier for the both of them to focus on there powerful vocals and to throw a little grit in there..gary has an amazingly powerful voice and it was great to hear benji just bring it in that kind of way...my 2 year old was totally headbanging this one..he loves skindred just like his daddy!!! he loves ninja..every time i play that song he just goes off and well if he likes this track..so do i...different for skindred..yes..but sometimes different is ok.cant wait to hear what else they wrote

This is just pure, fun, dirty Heavy Rock! Not commercial by any means, but yes different to the Ragga, Metal, Punk, Hip Hop sound which got my attention years ago as 'Dub War'. The sound to which many are used to as the now evolved Skindred style. It's still Heavy, and that's why I like it!!

Over the years, Skindred has always evolved from album to album, but this...this has nothing to do with Babylon, that was a blast of a cd, this is just...skindred goes pop, not even the instruments sound as heavy as they used to, so sad :/
Hmm... HUGE Skindred fan, been listening to Benji since Dub War... but not so much a fan of this song... They are entitled (hell its their band) to diversify and experiment, that's what they have always been about, but this being the first released song from their new album does not give me high hopes for their new album at all. Also.... a thrilling racing video would have been more appropriate for this song, would have gone well on the new Need For Speed game like "Nobody" from the Babylon album.

So if you've heard the 2 albums they released and the difference between album 1 and 2 .. as example the songs Strike It versus Enemy Maker.. its a harder first album versus the softer less forceful 2nd album.. So like with any band they need to kind of evolve in some ways... Now as this song features Phil Campbell this is maybe why the song has tinges of AcDc and Skindred songs you may have heard.. Also if your listening to this via small speakers off a lap top or via a phone with or without headphones 🎧 it wont have the same punch as it would via large speakers.. kicking down the neighborhoods doors and storming in full force...😈🎸🤘🤘🤘🤘
