- In this episode we enter Angola and drive through to gorgeous Namibia. We still have a few mechanical issues but still have a fantastic time through this amazing terrain. We love Namibia!

@@GraemeBellOverlandingMan alright Keelan, had some trouble with the link originally so went to Amazon and got Europe and the West Africa one...I've traveled Europe extensively so looking forward to that one. They get here in a couple days before I do a bit of my own overlanding (just a car now, RV comes in couple years after retirement and that's when I'll get the remaining one Travel the Planet Overland)! Knew there would be more coming from reading the other two, but didn't know they were done yet! Thanks for the heads up! Safe travels!!!!!

@@GraemeBellOverlandingMan it wasn't highlighted for me originally so I copy and pasted it and it kept screwing up the address...eventually, after Amazon, I refreshed youtube page and the link was separate and highlighted and I clicked on it and it went straight to the site. So it's working fine...operator error

I don't think our trip will ever fully end! This is actually backlogged footage from 2019. Since then we've done a tonne of work on our vehicle and did a loop around Southern Africa amidst the Pandemic but I think even more exiting than that is how much we've been able to improve our film making skills! Soon enough you'll be seeing silky smooth drone footage and less shaky videos, Be sure to subscribe and stay notified so you don't miss out!

You mention refilling your cooking gas cylinder. How does that work? I thought every country had different gas cylinders and fittings?
Not Every country has different fittings. Sometimes certain countries will either intentionally or unintentionally have the same fittings or adapters that you can use to refill. In the worst case scenario we would have to buy a new Gas canister and fittings but since we use a 9kg tank it takes 4-7 months to use it all. In West Africa's case for us since the gas ran out not to long before The Congo we decided to just wait until Namibia before refilling.

@@4x4OutFar Fresh milk is a developmental indicator. To have it you need dairy farms, professional farmers, cold storage and refrigerated distribution to a wide customer base. We judge a countries infrastructure by the availability of fresh, branded milk! And we are all milk addicts.

Guys, you skipped Basil in Uis (Brandberg Rest Camp), how COULD YOU? 😄 I dont know how I missed these episodes, but love them none the less a year later. Oppie Koppie is certainly a great place to squat and in Kamanjab you should have looked up Mad Duncan Gilchist as landy fans. The ancient USSR T38 tank was just a way of the USSR convincing the African despots that the USSR is helping them to stay in power. The T55 was a relative modern tank during the bush war. The world laughed at South Africa for fielding a wheeled infantry fighting vehicle against the T55. With only a 20 mm canon. This Ratel could circle a T55 faster that it could turn it's turret. The locally produced 20 mm canon round was also used on the mirage fighter jet. In the end, many T38 and T55 was destroyed by our innovative Ratels. Still lying around the Angola countryside.
South Africa still failed to invade Angola though :)
Why would we? Our battalion, 101 Battalion from Ondangwa, controlled the strip north of the border. Our troops was Owambos that hated the terrorist for planting land-mines in the Owambo territory. Resulting in civilian casualties only. So, in order to prevent terrorist penetration into Owamboland, we controlled the southern part of Angola. We had no intent to go further up north. Our army, not my battalion, occasionally destroyed air force basses further north. Only when the amassment of Cuban troops, East-German troops, and weaponry became a threat to Owamboland and Namibian farmers.
