Thank you for this tutorial. I merged libraries from more than one library/author and I had to send it several times before all the presets finally got all the samples. Some presets were playing silence (no sample missing, just silence). Now I'm not sure if I'm willing to buy another library with custom samples (or another digital synth from Korg) because of this mess. I'm very disappointed how Korg manages Wavestate "on the other side of the "USB cable".
That never happened on my side. Did you take complete sample banks and merged them or did you just make yourself a favorite bank and only chose some of those multisamples?
@@MaikSchott first option. I guess it's some random glitch because after a few exports of the same bank it finally catch up and now everything is fine.
This would explain why when you load 2 of your libraries (for example Sounds of the 80s Pop Hits and Synthesizer Legends), the first one loaded is silent on certain sounds ? I tried to follow the tutorial but there are some samples that I'm asked for and that I can't find in the library (example merge 80's and Synthesizer Legends), the requested HL samples don't seem to be in the library.
Can you load 3 or 4 possible 5 but not all 6? Also can you load each 1, one at a time over time or you have to load multiple libraries as the procedure shows. If you already have a library loaded how can you load the second library. If you cannot how do you remove the existing library and start over with the procedure in this video.
It depends on what you load. My synthpop triple Bundle fits completely into the internal memory. The Analog Synth Essentials complete collection as well. As soon as you load another library the old one is erased from the internal memory. That swhy you have to merge multiple libraries if you want to play them simultaneously.
@@MaikSchottKorg needs to address this, what a HORRIBLE user experience. It's crazy that you can't transfer a single multisample to an existing user bank without erasing everything. Have you heard if they plan on fixing this?
Hi Maik Is It also possible to merge part of the sample and performances to create say a Jarre bundel ? I presume I should make a folder with the coresponding samples and an other one with the single performances needed. Thanks in advance, Ben
Hi Maik, I have just loaded your "Essentials" banks to my wavestate - it is beautiful by the way 🙂. Apparently I cannot merge anything to this sample bank, because it would go above 50Mb RAM size - is this an absolute limit on the Wavestate ? My plan was to merge all my sample banks into one, but apparently it is not possible.

Thanks Simon. You will not overwrite your patches. But whenever you load a Soundset, that comes with custom samples, you will overwrite those sample bank, that you have loaded into your WaveState before. Of course the factory samples will remain inside the WS.
Pardon my newbie question on this synth. I'm interested in buying both the VST and several of your banks. I'm a bit puzzled with all these steps. Are they mandatory for the plugin? Can all bought librairies coexist? Or can i use only one at a time which honestly make this synth medieval regarding presets...
This video is specially for merging more than one library. If you load one Soundset it is a bit easier but you still have to do a few of these steps. Loading the sample bank into the sample builder and saving it for the Plug-in - for example. But everything is described very detailed in each Soundset.
@@MaikSchott Thanks. One more question, you stated in your video that the mk1 (hardware) had a limited 50mb of memory. Is the mk2 the same? Does this memory limit exist in the VSTi?
@fabthefab75 the mk2 has the same limitation until now. The Vst Plug-in does not. With the native wavestate plug-in you can have unlimited Soundsets. It depends on your computer then.
Hi, I’m looking forward to have a dedicated sound bank for Pianos, and E-pianos e.g ( Rhodes suitcase, mk3, Dx7, Concert grand, studio grand, …etc) and also ready to trigger drum rhythms

Hoi Maik Schott. cant you tel how i can get a firmware on the Wavestae, i have a secondhands 10,4 and i cant get de firmware from the Korg site on the windows 10 pc , i have the rndis on de pc but it dont work at all, what can i do.......thanks
Dear Rob, as being a Mac user I can not tell you a lot of tipps. I read that turning off all Antivirus and VPN had helped some users with the connectivity issue. I recommend the Facebook group "Ultimate Korg Wavestate" hosted by Marc Barnes.
@@MaikSchott you should at least release a lot of your jams and playing on band camp so all the lovely people who found you through sound sets can listen to your creations. Underneath the soundesign, your style of playing and skill is beautiful.
Now I have all eight of your sets and I'm trying to do this to put them all on my new Wavestate mkII I just picked up today. I get a few "missing file" errors that appear to be mostly file name issues (looking for file name containing "Eb2-Eb4" but the file contains "Eb2-Eh4" which I assume is a typo. Once I got them all together, the Bank RAM size is over 100MB/50MB and I can't send the bank to the keyboard even though I'm fine of the Bank Storage Size. Is there anyway to overcome that limitation in the Bank RAM?

The .korgmultisample contains samples name files that do not exist These samples directories neither appear on my hard disk after installation, nor in the zip file loaded from your website. Can you give me some informations? thx
Thank you! According the errors: you just can delete these multisamples from your folder. I used these in the beginning of the programming phase but then dismissed them and used other multisamples.
If someone wants to buy more than 1 of your soundsets why can’t you do this for them? It would sell more of your sounds and save the customer a headache. Love your sounds!
Using the Wavestate needs a little bit of training and it is important that the user knows how to install the purchsed soundsets. Merging two or more sample banks does not assume a faint more knowledge than installing one single sound bank - which I definetely cannot do for anyone, unless I would pay each of my customers an eye to eye visit - which would be a lovely thought but not very realistic.
The first step, copying the folders, is not necessary. As the manual notes, "Multiple Banks can have links to the same Multisamples, so you can make as many of these new Banks as you like. It’s OK if the Multisamples are in different folder structures."

How many preset packs can you load into the wavestate? Is there a maximum? I loaded 3 and now 1 of them won't play anymore

Hi there, yes unfortunately 50MB bank size is the limit. It was hard work to get all these 5 essential Soundsets into one bank 😁

Yes that would be great. Though there are already a lot of these as Multisamples inside the internal Memory

Hi Peter, yes - 3 soundsets should be possible to merge into one bank wiithout exceeding the memory limit of the hardware.
Bank Ram Size exceeded (my own samples + ASE bundle), is there any work around? 62MB/50MB

It's surprising that Korg couldn't solve this more simply, it should work with a few clicks without a utility.

That's true - I just found it safer to make an indépendant folder with a copy of the Soundbanks leaving the original libraries untouched.
