I always disliked when people described it as “a mask.” It’s so much more than that. Thank you for this video. As a Scorpio rising, Aquarius Sun, and Taurus Moon, I have a ton of square and oppositional energy. I’m definitely in tune and probably relate most to my Scorpio rising.

I love this video, and the approach. When I discovered what rising sign really is, I stopped introducing myself with the Sun sign.
I am Leo rising, and I relate to this sign way more than anything in my chart, this is 1000000% me. My Sun is in Capricorn, and I definitely see Capricorn traits as something that I value or hold of high regard as some type of ideal, this is a lot of what I am aware of as well - boundaries, responsibility, stamina. But this is not my pesonality at all

I had to get my birth chart rectified. Something intuitively told me that my birth time was wrong, plus there were typos on my birth certificate. Went from a 1° Virgo rising to a 22° Cancer rising, born 3 hours earlier. Now all of my transits make sense, my birth chart fits, definitely more than a mask. I’ve seen how actual events related to childbirth/motherhood difficulties have played out and completely changed my life, especially with my moon in Capricorn. Literally almost died giving birth to my 2nd child.

I have Scorpio 1st house, including my Pluto ruler and Black Moon Lilith, illuminated by a Grand Trine Pisces Mars in 5th and Cancer Jupiter in 9th. It runs very deep, very mystical, dreamy, dark, intense, expansive, it packs a punch 😂 It complements very well my Capricorn stellium + Moon in 3rd. All this to say, I’m a Taurus Sun conjunct Mercury in 7th, YES to the being very Venusian in my relationships but dear god it is not the most significant energy in my chart. Understanding this helped me integrate so many aspects of my shadow and embracing the unique blueprint of the energy I give off. I like to say, the rising sign is the highest version of yourself. It comes later on in life as you ascend. 💜🖤🤍

My Leo Rising is ruled by an Aquarius Sun. Lmao I do relate to Leo Rising for sure, and how I used to seek to be important to others. Ending up learning through others more about myself. Jupiter Rx in first house. I have a Stellium in Aqua, though, so I heavily resonate there, too.

I have to say I get really peeved when people tell me that the Sun sign isn’t relevant.
I resonate a lot with My Aquarius Sun and I’m happy with that.

I was just going to say that Sun signs only hold water if the native is a LEO ASC--BC Sun is lord of the ASC for Leo.

It's really true. Ascendant is very important and evident. I am a Pisces Sun but Taurus Ascendant. People often see me as a Quiet Lad but when I am angry that's another story. I talked a lot and I'm like the Taurus Sun Sign People when being angry. I am not too shy as my Pisces Sun Sign Personality fades away its shyness when I'm meeting new people. My Pisces Sun Sign energy makes me feeI always that I want changes in my life but my Taurus Ascendant energy made me feel that I don't need to change anything in my life including myself since Taurus is a Fixed Sign. So hell yeah, ASCENDANT makes a lot of sense.

Scorpio rising / capricorn sun / aquarius moon, here. Honestly? I feel connected to those three pretty evenly most of the time. I love dressing in black and red and wearing leather jackets and boots. I tend to be a bit of a loner yet I still have many friends. I love music and singing, and my favorite artists are black veil brides, asking alexandria, emma blackery, faun, heilung, the pretty reckless, and so on. I have a number of long distance friendships and in person friendships. The line between friend and lover can get blurry with me, and i like things unconventional, but on my terms. All this said, I have a career in accounting and i like the stability of a 9-5 office job, so long as i can have enough time to play on the weekends. If you ask me, I think the picture i painted in this comment really shows my scorpio/capricorn/aquarius-ness pretty well.

i'm a libra rising with a sun in leo and i've got the moon and venus conjunct in libra while mars is conjunct my sun with just a degree separating them 😅 i've definitely seen how both manifest in my life. i'm into visual arts and all the sports and physical activity i've shown interest in are more "solo" performance arts which make things look easy but in fact are super metal, namely stuff like ballet and figure skating. i think it really shows the libra-leo energy especially with mars thrown into the mix. i always want to make shit look pretty in an extra way that would put any competitors to shame but not so much that it would be cringe-ly overbearing. also doesn't help that jupiter is hanging out in leo 🙃

I love this discussion of the asc. In my studies, I found it compelling that my rising at 7° Leo is the fixed star Praesaepe. One of the attributes of that star indicates blindness of the left eye, and while I am not blind per se, I have always had very poor eyesight out of the left eye, while my right eye is nearly perfect vision. Pretty crazy right?? Since I fell in love with studying astrology, I have to say that it is easy to look at people and spot physical characteristics that do truly point to their rising sign. Fascinating stuff. Leo rising always has the hair, the mane of the lion, we are vane about our hair... every rising sign has those certain things. Love this Cam.

I would put it this way. Your rising sign sets up your basic chart meaning it gives your twelve basic traits. The chart is then modified by planetary placements.
Well with me there is no difference ....we all have a 1 in 12 chance that our Sun and Rising is the same.....I'm a Gemini Sun, Gemini Rising and Gemini Mercury....all the 1st House.....and my Moon in Virgo.....So a whole lot of Mercury there, and people have said that I'm Genuine, What you see and hear is what you get! I like that, to me it's a complement!

In your Part Two Video, Are you going to mention the importance of the Planets in your first House? Also, the Aspects towards the Ascendant like having Planets Conjunct/Opposite/Square the Ascendant make a big impact on how the Individual is seen imo. You could act like a different planet everyday or every Min depending on the aspects.

Happy Birthday! I personally relate more to being an Aries (Sun) but I do use my Gemini (ASC) communication/networking as a tool or apart of the strategy. My natal Mercury is in Pisces so things like diving into the Matrix are normal, lol.
My lived understanding is the ASC is more than the mask, it is the whole outfit. The Moon is like what you feel, the Sun is like the headspace, intention but the ASC is your outfit and mirror. It is how others see you on the surface.

For example when the Sun goes to Virgo (and I have observed and watched this over a few years, you can do it too with any planet, just apply soft focus) there is a focus and attention on going back to our daily routine, daily routine and all that comes with it, coming back to a daily flow, responsibility, work, and you can feel the hermity feel that Sun in Virgo has, the first 7 degrees of Virgo is also the Nakshtra Magha (from a Vedic perspective) it is an Ugra Nakshtra meaning it is a fierce or determined energy, and that’s exactly what happens at that time of the year, people trying to get that inner strength to go back to daily life, routine etc. So The Sun is that point of focus or activity (it is time for ..... , we are doing this ......) also a point of fixity, and stability in some sense.thats how I see the Sun and many other things also the Sun represents (not only what I mentioned) , and the ascendant is exactly how you described it.

I definitely identify with the Sag in a lot of ways, and since learning about the whole rising sign thing a few years ago it just added so much. Yes I definitely identify with Aquarius as well. I find a lot of similarities and what’s different seems to compliment. Cancer moon was great for homeschooling my kids. 😂 It’s now time for me, I’m 58 years old and feel like my life has just begun. I have a Birthday Astrology book. There is a date structure per calendar month within it, just thought you would like to know.
(1st) Sun (2nd) Moon (3rd) Jupiter (4th) Uranus (5th) Mercury (6th) Venus (7th) Neptune (8th) Saturn (9th) Mars so every 9 (10th) Sun (11th) Moon and so on.
From another book Monday (Moon) Tuesday (Mars) Wednesday (Mercury) Thursday (Jupiter/Neptune) Friday (Venus) Saturday (Saturn/Uranus) Sunday (Sun).
I'm born on the 26th which is Saturn, and I always find that people born on moon dates, are like an opposite to me, or have some strong prevalent meaning in my life, if you know what I mean (2nd) (11th) (20th) (29th) which are dates related to the Moon. Obviously dates like the Sun, Jupiter, and Uranus, are (positive) and the Moon, Saturn, and Neptune are (Negative) the other dates are (Neutral).
I’m a Scorpio sun taurus moon born in Moselle France 2 degrees 10 Libra rising… I immigrated to Sydney Australia and have lived here for more 50yrs… I was recently told that in my relocated chart the rising sign changed and strengthens the longer you stay in one place… in my case it’s become Pisces rising in the exact same degree as my birth Libra rising sign. Should I be using my birth rising or my relocated rising because I resonate with both

I'm a Scorpio Sun and a Capricorn rising. I relate more to my sun sign - it describes me perfectly. I'm not very sure about Capricorn, though. I have a birth certificate, but there is no time on it. I had to rely on my sister's memory, and she told me that it was around 10 am or 11 am (if I remember correctly), so I typed in 1030 to get my birth chart.
Looks like I am at the right place in the now time of 6/21/23. This is the track I have gravitated to in trying to discern what seems to be off in the birth chart. Capricorn ascending Taurus sun Aries moon Taurus mercury Aries Virgo. Had a reading in a budget site and sounds great. Yet in reality I think not so much. Something is in the mist out there. I have Cancer rising at 29 degree. I have sun, mercury, Venus and chiron in Leo. As I'm getting older there is a contradiction I'm becoming aware of between the two energies regarding what I need on an energetic level. Part of me wants to remain inward, stay at home, do things that provide healing to myself and those I care about VS spending time with friends, being loud, expressing myself outwardly. I realized that during cancer season where often I create my own feelings of imbalance simply by being extroverted in a moment when I needed to pause and go within and vice versa. Not sure if this makes sense but I'm realizing I need to cherish having my ascendant at this degree of cancer vs overfocusing on my leo energy. I relate, however the integration of the boundaries and softness of this water element is becoming crucial in me feeling safe, calm and whole. I also have my moon in libra in the 4th house , so I feel this emphasizes the need to pay attention to the energy of the moon in my life.

Ancient thinking caps. Yes, Libra rising is me. I always tell ppl to listen for their rising sign.
I have Sag rising and Pisces Sun. So it’s possible that when I think the effect on my life is from a transit to my Sun is actually to my rising. I have Mars in the first house. Jupiter is ruling my chart from Cap in the 2nd. Other than the perspective and intuition piece - Pisces doesn’t really sound like me.

Rising sign describes one's outward personality, and it always contributes to the way they present themselves to the world. However, when it comes to one's physical body, there is no correlation between the Rising Sign and one's physical body. I know that a person's body shape is influenced by genetic factors, lifestyle, exercise, and diet.
Otherwise, when astrologers refer to the Rising Sign, they are talking more about the psychological and behavioral traits, not one's physical body. I personally think that those who describe the physical appearance of each rising sign need to have a second thought. I just don't see the logic on how a Rising Sign in Astrology would correlate with one's physical body. That's what I've realized recently.
With the exception that your mind (will power) or inner energy can affect your appearance (body / muscle mass). Wouldn't be surprised if epigenetics also influence facial structure within the phenotype.

I always feel exactly how my sun is described as a ( cusp?) Aquarius sun, January 22. But if I want to know why things are playing out the way they are and how to smooth them, I always relate to my Gemini ascendant. I also LIVE in indecision... which I was told is not unusual for a Gemini.
So...in watching RUclips astrology I lean towards my ascendant.

Cancer rising with libra moon in 4th house. Definitely relate to cancer traits as much as libra sun.
I used to not relate too much on my Sun sign. But years gone by, and I started to feel it a little bit more. I'm an Aquarius Sun. But, my rising sign is in Gemini, and Mercury is in the 8th house. So, my Sun is in the 9th conjoined Mars... I do identify a lot with my rising, but I can't deny that I have tons of characteristics from my Sun c/ Mars in the 9th. Also, I usually read, listen, or watch horoscopes based on my rising. It makes more sense to me.

I have my Sun, North Node, Uranus, Neptune, and Lilith on my Ascendant in Capricorn with my chart ruler in Aquarius in my second house. My Sun and North Node are above my Ascendant degree.
So that means I have Capricorn, Leo, Pisces, Aquarius, and Nodal energy on my Ascendant
As a kid, I never felt like a Capricorn... Thanks to my North Node being there I guess 😆.

I don’t relate to being a Virgo rising at all unless I’m like a Kurt Cobain or Layne Staley Virgo rising. I’m not organized. I hate cleaning. Hate working in general. Don’t look like a Virgo at all I don’t think. The only thing I relate to is Virgo stomach issues. Unless there’s some chaotic escapism that Virgo hides from people, I can’t relate. I’m a Pisces with a Leo moon and Pisces Mercury, sag Mars.
I’m a Virgo rising as well and feel the same way. However, I have a later degree Virgo ascendent and I always felt more like a libra than Virgo rising.

I think I have Saturn Conjunct Southnode. My rising sign is Scorpio. I have a stellium in the 12th house.
I find as I age I step into different aspects of my chart. My venus Libra was me mostly as a kid. But adulthood after 20 stepped me into sun Scorpio expression. Now at 54 I am mostly my rising Capricorn and see little of my Scorpio side..hardly any. Maybe my moon Taurus will be my later very elder years.

I definitely relate to my rising sign but I don’t think it plays a significant part in my personality compared to my sun and moon. Everyone I form deep relationship’s with are signs that are traditionally compatible with my sun and moon. I have a libra rising and I have never had a close friendship with an air sign in my life. I attract Geminis like crazy but they never stay around so ultimately my sun and moon seems to weigh more heavily.
