It’s originally known as roewe i5 in China. And was rebrand as MG 5 in UK, Middle East and SEA. It has a max output of 120hp and max torque of 150. It also has same engine with Buick Exelle GX under GM-SAIC venture.
The delay can be removed easily through the Engineering Mode in "secret settings". The default delay is due to safety reasons. Well, the lowest variant which is the Core MT that is only priced at 658,888 with same engine is a bit faster based on paper than its CVT siblings including Alpha. Core MT can reach 100km/hr in just around 10secs and tops at around 185kph(but some can do 195kph) while the CVT variants can reach 100km/hr in around 11secs with 180kph top speed due to transmission differences.
MG 5 owner here since October 2019. The compartment is spacious enough. You can actually adjust the back seat so it can flatten. With this. We were able to fit in a 55" flat tv. Agree with the air vent at the back seat., we also wonder if we can have an air vent installed at the back. The features are cool. The leather seats are premium. Though I agree that it's hard to sit on it once you expose it on heat even for an hour. Air conditioning, sound system are great. And the 360 degrees cam is the top notcher for this model. Wish you could also have a review of MG6.

Caco, there are no visible vents for the rear passengers but there are hidden vents under the front seats. Saw it on one of the review videos. Also, why was the sunroof not featured? And the fact that it's bigger than most subcompacts in its class. But all in all, nice review!😁

It seems many people doesnt understand the global market today. Many Japanese/Euro Brands are tying up with Chinese automakers nowadays. For example, Toyota already announced its partnership with BYD (Chinese carmaker) to develop pure electric vehicles and it will use BYD's existing electric platform and electric parts. The electric vehicles it develops will be sold under the Toyota brand. Enough with the stigma! Yea there are chinese products that really sucks! But not all. Anyways, im using iPhone that was assembled in China which is really good.. I'm also driving a 2018 Nissan Juke.
Well it's not about Chinese products are bad it's just buying them will support the Chinese Communist Party's oppression of their citizens, bullying Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia Philippines and recently killed 20 Indian soldiers also covering up the corona virus and blaming Africans.

I bet those who are saying "boycott chinese products" does have chinese- built-products on their hand. Its funny because japanese and other countries are tying up with china. @@ryob1225 The Japanese government is literally paying its companies to come back to Japan. Chinese companies themselves want to get out of China. Also I think the stigma of Chinese products of being bad is over. Huawei and other phone manufacturers have already proven themselves. Geely also looks promising.
Toyota have Japanese engine and the engine last forever, however the original MG is already gone and the new MG was made in China. You dont know how long that chinese engine can last although they have 7years unlimited kms waranty still I would not trust the chinese.
Kai Kai Rubbish. I rather get Toyota, Honda, Isuzu, or American brand Ford any given day than get any Chinese rubbish. I don’t care about the accessories or specs, I have more care about the performance, engine durability and reliability of the car.
I love this car's look. European market style. Posh and elegant Maybe ill buy one in 3 or 5 years. Reliability is only my worry. 'll stick to my toyota for now.
MG and Geely have been killing lately. Forget the Poor quality kasi China mentality. Sinuntok nila sa mukha Hyundai at Toyota dito. If only we can set politics aside.

Tignan natin kung aabot ng 5 years mga oto nila na walang major issues sa makina o mga electronics nila. Tignan din natin kung kaya ba umabot ng 80k kilometers mga yan na d lagi bumibisita sa casa for repairs. Dami kasi napakagat. 😁😁
