No kidding, this happened to me today. I finally found a 150 Owl that I was looking for for ages. Stopped a moment to place the trap, literally less than 2 mins, turned around and there was NO trace of it. Truly an Ark moment.

Once I was searching for a high level Rex, but I found I unicorn. I was relatively new, so the only passive tame I knew how to do was moschops. Long story short, I knocked it out and kept trying to feed it. It died after a while. 😢

found two 150 gigas male and female, then proceeded to breed them till i had about 15 eggs, i had about 24 popped (three sets of twins and one triplet) and about 12 of those were mutations so i culled the ones that were worthless. but from those 12 there was so many monster gigas made, had one get too 1250's for attack, health 33k 100% imprint, we could kill wild gigas np, having a bigger tribe helps, with people who can take turns and shifts really help too, had a friend log into my account just to make sure i didnt miss a imprint on anything, They Wyvren army we raised after this was also fun, any egg under 165 was eaten or used for basalic tames, we raise over 75 wyvern's, was a sight to behold.

I believe the reason the Giga is rare as almost no one uses them, people use to use them for boss fights until an update prevents gigas from entering boss rooms. It gained a replacer with a name I do not remember, the phoenix is an animal no one asked for, the titansaur is solely a raid tame but they are solely used by tribes that have members in the 20s. Edit: Ok so I realized the titansaur maybe additionally worthless because if you are a tribe of more than 20 people, you are using multiple brontos not a single titansaur.

I play Ark solo so PVP isn’t relevant. (No reason to tame titanosaur) but I’ll sometimes tame a giga just to tame it then do absolutely nothing with it 😂 they too slow/run out of stamina too fast for me

When I started ark rigth I spawned at island I saw an unicorn I was like hmm get berries to tame then I got to it then he ran to the water and sharks killed him
I was flying around with an argie and found a unicorn so I decided to kidnap it and bring it to my base, tried to tame it. It kicked me and my 7 other tames decided the unicorn shall die. I was panicking and didn’t know how to get them to stop and when they killed the unicorn I was like “fuck.” Rip unicorn. Got kidnapped and jumped in one day.
The unicorn is special dinosaur it mutated to camouflage in the snow area its a ambush predator it impales the prey by its sharp horn where it can then use its horn to electrocute you
I’ve seen 4 in my single player server, fun fact: when you kill a lot, you gain more spawns. Basically the charts reset and spawn in random things, and in some cases, it can be an alpha Rex.
If you haven't figured it out yet some of the highest level dinos on the island spawns on the island top right corner level ,70-170 raptor and about 70-150 rex not to mention the saber at 175 that I noticed
