As I was watching this, Matt, Chase and Jesse in the ring at the show, Jesse assisting putting a Nalanta bitless harness on Chase and watching Jesse intently watching center ring as Matt and Chase proudly showing off wearing the bitless harness, I could not imagine a more proud moment for all three. I think these were your 15 min of fame everyone gets in life. Especially Matt and Jesse as one but along with Chase as well.
Why am I crying I just feel so proud in someway, taking your horse with you isn't what most people would do, they would just buy another one. The way Matt cares for his horse, and bonds with him. Make's me have faith in humanity again

TheNonMakeupGuru sorry if I read this comment the wrong way, but do you mean that a horse should never spook? Horses are prey animals, if something has contact with their backend without warning, they may bolt off, kick, buck etc. Even the most well trained horse can be taken by surprise.
Megan Payne no im saying that theres a lot you can do to prevent things like spooking. its called desensitization. Something every horse should have some sort of training with as it can prevent so many dangerous situations. Spooking happens but if a horse cant even handle something brushing its side then it seriously needs more training. I completely agree that freak things happen and no horse can be perfect. But it should be still a focus point to ensure something as silly as a hand brushing a horses side from people or kids it sees and walks past shouldnt be a concern or issue.
Chase was Just breathing in the aplausse and looked so proud, i became quitte emotional watching that, especialy knowing he had been depressed for a few months, he needed this!

My husband and I moved our family from Canada to Australia for 6 years then on to Indonesia, and finally back to Canada. We have always looked foreword to each new adventure. It has given us so many good memories. You have so much to be proud of, never give up on your dreams. Wishing you happiness in all that you do.
My friend (and trainer) imported an Oldenburg from Germany about ten years ago. The horse (we call him Big), had difficulty adjusting to the weather, and the altitude (we live in Colorado). He came in the late spring and the summer heat here, can be brutal. Poor Big, he was miserable for awhile, we would constantly give him cool baths, let him play in the hose, anything to make him happy. The other obstacle was that Big didn't "speak English"!! We had to train him for the new words, the new commands, but he finally adjusted. He's now the king of the property, walks around in the large turnout, flirts with the girls and generally living the life. It's difficult when you fly/ship horses, no matter where you're coming from or going to. The difference between Australia and the Netherlands, is so severe, I couldn't even imagine how hard it would be to adapt. My husband is Dutch, and we travel back and forth every year to see family.
My friend did the same thing. She imported an eight-year old Hanoverian Grand Prix jumper from Germany and chose to learn some words in German rather than teach the horse English commands. Much easier on the horse!

this series really got to me and made me realize how amazing the "horse world" is. there's so many people out there across the whole world, doing big things for the love of the horse, like this, and small things too. kids working their butts off to earn the ride on a horse, adult amateurs working in unrelated jobs to pay for their horse, etc. we are such lucky people to have this in our blood. a job well done on this series, i am humbled by Matt's kindness and his true love not only for the sport but also for the horse, which is exactly how it should be.

I'm such a proud follower, matt. The whole bitless decision was unforseen, and I cannot believe you did it. Once I start riding again consistently and am further along in my journey, perhaps leasing a horse, I am most definitely going bitless. It's the image I want to share and promote :) Well done.
@@Alyathaean people say that all the time, as if to defend metal in an animals mouth believing in bitless doesnt just end at that, its not that simple. The depth of the decision includes harmony; if that makes sense.
@@GMD0602 As a rider for 20 years, I've seen first hand some horrific things with a bit and without. Including a bitless crushing the bone in the horse's nose, and an emergency surgery to reconstruct as the airway closed up. Every tool is only as harmless/harmful as the person who wields it. Every tool requires education of both the horse and the rider in order for it to be used correctly.
I know you have no idea who I am, and we don't know each other, but I hope you understand when I say this: I'm so proud of you Matt. You've taken a step that very few horse owners, much less young people have taken in their lives. These last two episodes have practically left me in tears. It's so inspirational and heartwarming, especially since Chase is so similar to my horse Jasper. I am taking a journey of own at the moment, mine being switching my horse to bitless. I can only hope to inspire so many people as you did, and I really hope I do! Matt, I only know you from what I've seen on your channel, but this series makes me proud of you, somehow😂 I loved seeing the behind-the-scenes here, especially of the shipping process and what the pre-travel quarantine entailed (my 2020 brain assumed you had to be in quarantine with your horse and I was like, 'That seems kind of excessive...' 🙄😂). All the details of the move would've driven me crazy, but you seem to handle them like a boss. It was fun watching this for the first time two years after the fact, knowing what was to come. I got really happy when Jesse showed up. 😊 He seems like such a reliable, kind person, which is the best kind. (I wouldn't be surprised if he has more sass than we see, though.) this series really got to me and made me realize how amazing the "horse world" is. there's so many people out there across the whole world, doing big things for the love of the horse, like this, and small things too. kids working their butts off to earn the ride on a horse, adult amateurs working in unrelated jobs to pay for their horse, etc. we are such lucky people to have this in our blood. a job well done on this series, i am humbled by Matt's kindness and his true love not only for the sport but also for the horse, which is exactly how it should be.
The look on Chase's face at the end of the event, when everyone was clapping.....it was everything

The whole bitless decision was unforseen, and I cannot believe you did it. Once I start riding again consistently and am further along in my journey, perhaps leasing a horse, I am most definitely going bitless. It's the image I want to share and promote :)

believing in bitless doesnt just end at that, its not that simple. The depth of the decision includes harmony; if that makes sense.
@@GMD0602 As a rider for 20 years, I've seen first hand some horrific things with a bit and without.
Including a bitless crushing the bone in the horse's nose, and an emergency surgery to reconstruct as the airway closed up.
Every tool is only as harmless/harmful as the person who wields it.
Every tool requires education of both the horse and the rider in order for it to be used correctly.
What an amazing duo you guys are truly unique. Chase is one in a million

I know you have no idea who I am, and we don't know each other, but I hope you understand when I say this: I'm so proud of you Matt. You've taken a step that very few horse owners, much less young people have taken in their lives. These last two episodes have practically left me in tears. It's so inspirational and heartwarming, especially since Chase is so similar to my horse Jasper. I am taking a journey of own at the moment, mine being switching my horse to bitless. I can only hope to inspire so many people as you did, and I really hope I do! You are honestly my biggest inspiration in the hose world at the moment, and I can't thank you enough for releasing your journey on a free media platform for the entire world to see. Thank you for inspiring me and my horse so much.

love seeing this. my grandma told me when she taught me to ride must be at one with the horse. so going out in practice arena with out a bridle or halter on. so seeing you go bitless is awesome. even seeing your relationship with chase is awesome. Matt, I only know you from what I've seen on your channel, but this series makes me proud of you, somehow😂
I loved seeing the behind-the-scenes here, especially of the shipping process and what the pre-travel quarantine entailed (my 2020 brain assumed you had to be in quarantine with your horse and I was like, 'That seems kind of excessive...' 🙄😂). All the details of the move would've driven me crazy, but you seem to handle them like a boss.
It was fun watching this for the first time two years after the fact, knowing what was to come. I got really happy when Jesse showed up. 😊 He seems like such a reliable, kind person, which is the best kind. (I wouldn't be surprised if he has more sass than we see, though.)
I appreciate your bold, honest, and respectable personality, and I feel like I've gained some confidence just from watching you be confident.
