- You will learn how to install and program your Nest Thermostat to a gas wall heater that operates on a millivolt system (not connected to a power supply). Google says it doesn't work, but I will prove to you that it does work. You just need to purchase a 24 Volt Adapter and cover it with wire concealer. It's a very simple and quick process.
So clear and concise with all of your instructions. Excellent work!
Best RUclipsr ever
I could watch for hours
Looks like an awesome trick to get this to work and willing to buy an adapter but wanted to ask if the thermostat still work if there's a temporary power outage for a few hours.
Can you power the thermostat with the romex in the wall supplying the 110V outlets?
Will it still work if I lose power (which, I do all the time)? I'm hoping it will still work as a thermostat but will just lose wifi connection?
I hooked up a nest thermostat ended up with an error e294 and wouldn't control the boiler.
Swapped the boiler wires around same issue.
I was going to swap the 24v wires but it's AC so I can't see how that would make a difference
Cool
I just did this. It worked for a while, but now it doesn’t turns on the heater. I need to Jump the wires on the pilot to turn on the heater manually. Any help please? Nest doesn’t turns on the heater by itself
Did you figure out a solution to your problem?
@@claytonkern6220 not yet, kinda abandoned the project because couldn’t find a solution
The order of the C wires (plug in converter) matters. One way causes the pilot light to blow out. Switching the wires around makes it work properly.
