This soundtrack takes me back to 2015. At the time, I went to Scotland with my wife (gf at the time) originally for my major thesis and fell in love instantly with Edinburgh and Scotland. I kept daydreaming of maybe one day winning a PhD scholarship or even getting a teaching position there. After coming back to Brazil I eventually changed career and my daughter was born shortly after. Depression and suicide ideation came after. Then the pandemic. I eventually got better. I discovered a biological father, siblings, and nephews in Argentina and that I had a Scottish descendent. A great-grandfather who migrated to Uruguay with his family a long time ago. Who would have thought? My original dream never came to be, but I've also changed in many ways. And one day I will take my daughter to Scotland and she will probably fall in love with it too. And anyhow, I will always have this soundtrack to bring me back to simpler times and to bring a smile to my face.
I got the VHS and cassette soundtrack combo as a kid and wore it out b4 10 grade..first just instrumental soundtrack I ever had..it still gives me chills today

May your life be full of joy, strength, light, and ease. May you lead a life full of positivity and greatness. You got this. It's gonna get better real soon❤️🙏
@nhacsanclub .... I just came across your comment and although it's been two years since you posted it, I felt compelled to reply and let you know that I needed this so very much especially in lieu of all of the hardship and trials I'm going through at this time in my life. I'm so scared what tomorrow may bring my way, but I know God cares, He's with me every step of the way and has my back. It's also wonderful to know that someone you don't know in this world cares enough to take the time to let you know they care too and wish you nothing but the best. Please know that I wish you the same as well!! Do hope all is going great in your life and that you're well. Thank you!! 🥰🙏

🥹🥹🥹🥹🥲🥲🥲🥲😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 every single time chilling goosebumps from head to toe and my hair always stands up in salute to the honor trust and loyalty that is brought fourth to the forefront by Daniel Day Lewis and Madeline Stowe! That kind of love is truly rare indeed! There are not many of us left anymore who love that way! It is very hard for a woman to grasp that level of kindness and loving character that is offered awaiting acceptance from who it is directed towards!!! ❤❤❤
Having worked on the film heading up all the makeup effects I want to say how awesome this was to come up in my feed as a surprise on RUclips. Thank you Ambient Worlds.
So happy I found this 3 hour video. I love it. Having spent many years in the Adirondacks-especially Lake George, the history of the region, the French and Indian Wars as well as the American Revolution has always captured my imagination. That's why I love to watch this motion picture once or twice each year. The music has also helped trigger my imagination while writing my novels (although they are not about this region or the time period). If other posters on this thread also loved this movie or the time period of American History, I urge you to take a trip to Lake George, visit both Fort William Henry at the southern end of the lake and Fort Ticonderoga at the northern end. Explore the Adirondacks and take in all of its majesty. Summers are beautiful and the Autumn foliage is certainly a masterpiece on canvas painted by God.
YES! I too, am fascinated by the French and Indian War. NO ONE in Gen Z that I know of has ever heard of that pivotal time in American history - The struggle for Empire that occurred just hours north of NY CITY. Paying for it was a direct cause of the American Revolution, as it practically bankrupted England. But the adventure, and romance of this movie is timeless and will always stick with me. Hawkeye is the consummate hero to me. Montcalm, I believe, would have stopped the massacre, and I think he knew nothing about it. He should have, given the Huron hate for the British.
I concur with everything you said here. I live in upstate New York just an hour from Lake George and was just up there last Saturday 17Aug24. Have you ever visited the Saratoga Battlefield Field? If not, I recommend checking it out. Go into the visitors center, you'll love it. Did you know that the movie was actually filmed on location in North Carolina?
Music from my favorite movie like that sometimes something has the power of this movie, and despite watching it 100,000,000,000 times, you still want to watch it
The more I think about the characters, the more sympathetic the antagonist is to me. His family was wiped out victims of genocide and he was enslaved. His broken heart so fueled his desire for revenge as to take him beyond the customs of his tribe. We need to ask ourselves, would we do the same? It is an excellent story, an excellent movie with excellent music and acting!
Daniel Day Lewis was the BEST, in that film. Every time you heard the fiddle music, in the movie, you knew something really bad was going to happen. To this day, hearing that fiddle makes the hairs on my arms stand up. We were actually at the Biltmore Estate on the day they were filming the scene where Cora, and her sister and father were ambushed by the Indians coming down our of the woods. We could see people in red coats and see the smoke from the musket fire, but that was all. We couldn't get any closer. The scenes in the end of the movie were filmed at Chimney Rock State Park, which is about 45 minutes from where I live.
Amazing. I'm watching this movie right now for the first time. This is so sad, I can't stand why Alice and Uncas had to die😢😢 I shipped them so much 😭😭😭
Saw that movie twice , while my husband and I were dating. We both love the musical score. It’s just so good . The makeup and the costumes were awesome, and perfectly done with the historical time period.
This soundtrack is so under rated.....it has got to be THE best sound track ever made. My favorite experience is playing out the CD in my car driving through the hills of Eastern Oregon....and then the Colombia river gorge......epic
I was having trouble all day focusing on a paper I need to write for a class. I found this and allowed myself to be immersed in the instrumentals. After about 10 minutes I began to find my soul relax and I was able to begin my paper. By the time the timeline reached 1:52, I found the passages I needed to complete my paper. Thank you so much Ambient Worlds. I surely needed you tonight.
Music used to be so good in movies when I was a kid. The violin riff in this one is absolutely gorgeous. The perfect amount of repetition and change, of build and release. Maybe all the best music has already been made?

Wes Studi and the late Russel Means were incredible! They brought the real fire of the American Indian Spirit, which truly burns in their authentic lineage. 🙏
@@sandrasanders706 I totally agree! I thought he made that movie what it was. Without him, it would've been a very dull movie to say the least. His performance was top notch amazing! And yes, I too feel he should've been nominated for an award as well for that role. He just plays a really awesome villain and knows how to dominate the screen with his acting and presence. A true protagonist and on-screen talent. He's truly underrated. I really like him always have. If you ever read this Wes ... love ya "big hug" 🤗
"The Last of the Mohicans" is one of my favorite movie soundtracks ever. Thanks for making this as it's the perfect combination of music, visual setting, and natural sounds. I will definitely have this playing in the background while I'm writing reports or grading papers.
Great Spirit, Maker of All Life. A warrior goes to you swift and straight as an arrow shot into the sun. Welcome him and let him take his place at the council fire of my people. He is Uncas, my son. Tell them to be patient and ask death for speed; for they are all there but one - I, Chingachgook - Last of the Mohicans.
The frontier place is for people like my white son, and his woman, and their children. And one day there will be no more frontier. And men like you will go too, like the Mohicans. And new people will come, work, struggle. Some will make their life; but once, we were here.

Fabulous!! And I love that you put Looking Glass Falls with this. God I love that movie. My mom & I went several times to Chimney Rock park and played out some of the scenes there. Even took a small boom box with a cassette mix (this was before phones & ipods). Everyone who didn't recognize it even said "that music fits this place) while the ones that did recognize it were thrilled beyond belief. Those were fun days.
I have visited a few of the falls in this video they are in the Smoky Mountains National Park. Some you can drive to others you have to hike to but I have visited some where a picture of any kind, unless the pixel quality is that good, doesn't do it any justice. It's really worth the visit if you get the chance.
This is probably my most favorite one so far, great music selection and the atmospheres are beautiful. This movie is one of the greatest, I wouldn't say it's underrated because everyone knows it's amazing but I don't feel like it gets enough attention
A few years ago my wife and I were going on vacation in that part of NY so for her birthday i bought her the book. she hated it. Luckily one of our stops late in the trip was the Mark Twain house in connecticut. Twain hated this series and wrote a 32 page essay on how bad it was. stuff like "Leather stocking? it should be called the broken twig stories for if there is a twig that must not be stepped on, the hero will. if he cannot find a twig he will borrow one from his neighbor just so he can step on it. thankfully the movie this is from is much much better.

It's really worth the visit if you get the chance.
I love this movie and I really love this soundtrack
"Once upon a time in America" and "Last of the Mohicans" are two of the best soundtracks of all time.
This is probably my most favorite one so far, great music selection and the atmospheres are beautiful. This movie is one of the greatest, I wouldn't say it's underrated because everyone knows it's amazing but I don't feel like it gets enough attention
this is still like my second favorite movie ever. theatrical cut, not the director's cut. and absolute best score ever.
Watched the DC yesterday. What is the difference between those?
I have both I can't see a huge difference but I must be missing something

I wish I’d had this when I was reading the book. Well I guess it’s time to re-read it
There is always time to re read any books .
Never read that book, is it good ? I'm asking because i like this film a lot :D
@@juliettemayzou927 I liked it a lot. It was a little bit slow at parts, but it’s great historical fiction
