@@nekonari22 Web3 tech can bring new dimensions to EVE by enabling true ownership of in-game assets, player-driven economies, and enhanced governance. If CCP pulls it off, players could actually own ships, resources, and planets that have real-world value, creating deeper engagement and strategic opportunities. A decentralized infrastructure could allow for more transparent decision-making and a player-led governance system, aligning well with EVE’s complex economic and political systems. This integration has the potential to enhance the game’s sandbox nature, empowering players with greater control and more meaningful, lasting investments in the game world.
Such a missed opportunity. When CCP Overload tells you that blockchain is just database, you ask him why you would choose that over the MS SQL Server database, with which CCP now has more than 2 decades of experience, and what advantages it offers. You don't just nod and agree "Yup, it's a database, yup yup yup!" and move on like a complete tool.
it was pointless to discuss the merits and failings of the two different database types, as much as Overload knows about what database types there are he's self confessed he's not a technical guy when it comes to this stuff. we're hoping to get someone technical to answer questions like that on at some point. but the discussion points that we go down as you see in the talk are much more philosophical and large perspective than the fine details.
Gross. Imagine if the big null blocks could just pick a different developers to make the game they want. Nothing wrong with null but man, that would not be an eve I want to play. I don't think anyways.
5:43 - show start btw, we had some issues with an Adspot on twitch land right as we were bout to go into the show.
Extremely excited to see the Web3 integration with Eve and CCP. Can’t wait to play
What about Web3 integration are you excited about? What do you expect this would bring to this game?
