Thanks so much for what you do. I love the Curtis Mayfield Darker Than Blue (1995) documentary. I first found the Superfly album years ago, then watched the movie, then got into Mayfield's music. The documentary is very well made, tons of emotional moments and great music. Choice of Colors, People Get Ready, This is My Country.....old school cool, the soul music still hits deep, it has not aged at all. I love Mayfield- his music is so deep and powerful. I am going through and listening to all his albums one by one. Darker Than Blue is incredible, and also found a real Gem- Youre So Good To Me. One of the best, slickest, smoothest love songs I've ever heard. the superfly album is also the perfect example of OG old school cool. Nothing compares to Mayfield's fusion of soul and funk in the 70s. The song Back To The World is perfect also. I also found a youtuber who took curtis beats and put rap on top of it, and its an amazing blend of old meets new and flows perfect. The Mayfield documentary I watch clips of it almost every day cause theres so many hidden gems in there! Curtis is really part of the roots of real old school music. Just like how his second album is called "Roots"! Thank you!
