Kodi has a voice. He understands the words by the way he phrases. What insight. What his mind is thinking, feeling and expressing he's singing. He knows. He understands and he can't express it. He's talking to us by the words of the song.. God bless this young man and yes, I will buy his recording.

He had me at the run before “some bad rhymes” then I got the chills on the low note he lands on at rhymes and blow me away when he perfectly switches to his falsetto head voice on the next verse. Brilliant. Perfect. I don’t need to hear anymore. I’m a fan at about 20 seconds in.
Your reaction was perfect. I watched this when it aired a few nights ago. I usually have shows like AGT on in the background, but this performance captivated me, and by the middle of the song I was already sobbing. This young man lives in music and music comes alive through him. I've listened to so many versions of this song throughout my life, and I have never quite heard it this way. He was not imitating anyone - this song with all of his melodic variations took shape through him. I want to just listen to him as much as I can.
I really, really enjoyed watching your reaction. Tears formed in your eyes when Kodi was just talking to the judges. And when he sang, you had to stop the video a few times to gain composure.....I loved that!! I have studied Autism a little bit and have learned a few useful things. With Kodi's Autism, communication is difficult because he has to think the words before he gathers them together in a sentence. When he sings, its easier because he doesn't have to think each word before he sings because he has already memorized them. And he's really awesome, isn't he?
He is a billboard that anyone can overcome ....he is truly a master of heart and soul .....dwell into his past he is extraordinary ...can hear a song and play it with little effort.. your reaction was what everyone else's was .....

I keep crying every time I see him, I watched videos of him from eight years ago, the progress of the years is outstanding. His life could have gone differently if his mother was not so supportive. It makes me feel like I have nothing to complain about in the bigger scheme of things, Thanks

My guess is that he watched and listened to james grahmn sing this song on the four last year over and over he sings it just like james did . Its his disabiility that make this so remarkable and Thank God for this gift that brings him such quality of life and what an amazing mom really.

Subscribed! I've watched a few reaction videos by others however yours was genuine and heartfelt. You have such a beautiful soul. Kody Lee is a pure example of the misconception people have for those with Autism. They are not stupid. They are very intelligent and where they struggle in some areas they excel in others. My nephew is autistic and people have treated him like he isn't smart or less than human. It breaks my heart because he is so much smarter than I am in many aspects. Thanks for reacting to Kody and seeing him for the beautiful and talented person he truly is.

Dan I'm just seeing this in July. I saw this the night it happened and almost fell off my chair. The song " A song for you",is a cover by the fabulous Donny Hathaway from the 70's. Donny produced others like "The Ghetto, The Closer I get to you w Roberta Flack. He was ahead of his times. Donny passed away in 1979. This child has his voice down to a T. Enjoyed your reaction

I also think that he's not hyper-aware of his face. I mean that in a good way. He's not held back by trying to look "pretty" while he sings. He just does whatever he needs to do to get the best possible sound out of his instrument. I hope that made sense.

I am a 62 year old mom with now an adult son with autism.Was hard for him during his growing years,autism was not known in my country..services were close to none..( but love was always present)..so today we were watching Kodi,and we were crying!
And we felt so happy and proud of Kodi,his talent, and his opportunity to show the world that everyone has a gift in them!to share to others.
Kodi is our inspiration!..Our differences are what can unite us.
