What are you guy’s definition of low, medium, and high tuning? Like how many turns after you finger tighten is low and how many turns is considered high tuning?
I was gifted one of these 9 years ago, and refuse to part with it. Easily one of the best and most versatile snare drums out there. And you can’t beat the price! This is a true sleeper, if not THE sleeper drum.
I love this snare, have the original S Logo model pre-Joey Departure. The Super Hoop II rims were a great choice for the tonal features. Sounds great at either tuning tension. Very versatile 13" "Power Piccolo." I also have a 40 strand underneath and used Evan's ST-Dry on the top. Thanks for the demo!
Oh they took off the logos, thats depressing lol I thought they just stopped making the black version. I still have my Slipknot logo one from 2006 lol Threw on a Remo Black X head. It sounds best tuned super tight, or low like a 80’s ballad snare for slower stuff. Its SO easy to play though. Great rebound.
In own this snare and I highly recommend a few things. Super high tuning an evans reverse dot head and puresound blaster snare wires. When you catch the rim its sounds like a shotgun blast. I have played many arena shows with this snare and it never has had to be mic'd

THIS should be the standard for advertising a snare drum or any drum really. And who is the drummer? I’m a fan
That’s Tevin Curtis! You can check out his channel here if you’d like:

tHaT’S jOeY JoRDisOn!!! dUh.
@@Based228 and its kinda funny that a church drummer is doing a demo for a slipknot drum.
The man behind the kit is a breath of fresh air. Dude has the chops and knows how to advertise the sounds of a snare
Tune it higher for that true Joey jordison pop
That single foot pedalwork though 🤟🏽
That absolutely smacks in the low tuning!

I would love to hear this snare with a ST-dry!!
Is there any difference in sound between this one and your original run?
Also worth mentioning, that kick sounds amazing!

My word that snare is the best sounding snare there is! I hate low tuning on the snare but it sounded killer with this snare
Please again, with more blast beats ^^
Drummer's a beast!
Snare is great as well.

Your dynamics are VERY nailed it.

Very, very nice investigation of a drum man..........top notch. Agree with Justin fully.

It's the not the Joey Jordison snare unless it's tuned super high😂
Finally, after so many years!
Snare aside, that was some juicy playing!
little curious as to the mics used for this just for tonal reasons. incredible performance!
👍...great sound, great tester 🥁🇨🇱!!!
RIP Joey
holy shit, love that sound!
Great grooves in this vid👍
13"? Didn't know Joey is/was playing that size..?!
But sounds good.

Great tuning comparison video. Thanks
Nice job ! And what a drummer !
I had this snare but with the tribal S
I find this snare much more desirable than the SLC Jay Weinberg snare and this is a third of the cost.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks this! 🤣🤟

I hear no ring. Is it the mixing, or you muffled it? Sry if I am asking too many questions. I have the same snare.
What size is the snare strand? Thanks!
Pearl S029N 20-strand snare wires

What kind of shell is it steel?
1mm steel shell
Thanks, like everything except the look of lugs but I can look past that for the sound and price.
KICK ASS \m/
First beat sounds like Taylor Swift - Shake It Off.
I kinda stayed for the good footwork.
yeah i'm not paying $500+ for a snare drum when i can tune it to sound just like that on a typical one lmao
Got my used for 245
No you can't. I played it once, it's the best snare I ever played in 30 years drumming.
