THANK YOU!This doll is my dream come true I just didn’t know she would come in pieces 😂! She Is probably one of my favorite non Toni dolls. Since I was a child I loved Shirley Temple movies and never thought I would ever own one and one this nice. She has a special place in my room . She stands on an antique wooden stand just for her. I’m so great full to have her..😉❤️
thank you! I was surprised that she did look so beautiful. we are so happy you enjoyed watching the process . She now stands on her very own antique wooden display stand in a special place in my room. Every time I see her it hard to believe how she was now. l feel like it’s 1934 and I just got my dream come true for Christmas.❤️😘
If you are talking about Shirley leaving me a large tip she certainly did. Her beautiful presence in my room. I’m always going to be puzzled by dolls made from the same molds can looks so different from one another. I agree with you she is the most beautiful Shirley I’ve ever seen. But I noticed that before we even started working on her. Wonders never cease! She is on an antique wooden stand in my room looking like she just came out of her box. A dream come true for me. I always wanted one like her. That’s the biggest tip I’ve ever gotten.❤️😉🌺
@@margaretlynch1494 I told her owner I would fix her and if she changed her mind when she saw her I would send her back since it was her mothers. But she said she just wanted to find someone to fix her and give her a good home and we said we would. We tried to send her pics of the doll finished but she removed herself from where we were able to contact her. So we now can’t even send her the pics . We are very great full to have her moms doll and she will be loved and well cared for. Maybe she will see the video and maybe look at the comments. We are so happy you shared the video with your friends.❤🌺🥰
Absolutely beautiful and amazing what you did with her restoration! I love watching your videos. I learn so much! Thank you for making these for us to learn!
I’m so happy to see your comments. This doll meant a lot to me and I introduced a way of restoring composition that I hadn’t seen before. I wasn’t sure how it would be received by everyone. I’m so happy that you learned something knew. That happens to me with every doll I work on . Dolls are great teachers!😉❤️You are the only reason we do these videos. Thank you for your support!
Thank you that was so very kind of you to say😊. I must say she was one of my biggest challenges. I’m so happy with her ! I really love her, I always wanted one just like her. she’s such a gift to us!❤️🥰😉🌺

@@DIYDollArtist You have no idea how relieved I felt to find your channel. My family and friends do not understand my love for dolls. Plus I think you both are so cute and funny 😁 😘😘😘🥰🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘
what I would suggest you look at a video we made on repairing two crack in a hard plastic dolls head. Because if you are able to push your dolls cracks together some the method we used on the doll in this video would be the same method to use on your Shirley . it would be a safe method if your able to push them together some. check it out it sounds like it would work for you doll.🥰🌺
Thank you. It was touch and go for awhile. We were pleasantly surprised when it worked out. It could have gone one way or the other. so happy you like how she came out❤️😘🌺
we are so happy that you are enjoying the videos. The videos are meant for anyone not just those who have certain types of dolls. we celebrate all dolls. For they bring happiness to those who love them.❤️😘
She came out great. What kind of paint did you use on her and how did you match the sheen to her original paint. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge.
I use an artists paint Golden Fluid Acrylics, it is similar in consistency to a craft paint but is a higher quality and much more smooth when applied. The sheen is from the paint. On some dolls like a hard plastic one I would use a satin topcoat but I didn’t think it was necessary here. I would rather use an oil based paint on composition dolls but I haven’t found one yet that doesn’t take forever to dry. I am still on the hunt for one but in the mean time this has worked for me. Also, this was my personal doll and the best solution I have at the moment. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching!🥰
Thank you so much, I am so happy you enjoyed her. I used an oil pastel on her fine lines, the crazing in her paint. My daughter used Golden Fluid Acrylics an artists paint to cover the cracks. She had to mix the color to match the original paint that is why the repair turned out so well. It helps that she is a fine artist and knows how to match the paint.🥰
@@DIYDollArtist Thanks for replying, the repair was done so beautifully. She's got a new life. Great content in your videos . I am really enjpying them.
Lovely! So much work on the wig. 2 questions: do you ever just dip the shoes in olive oil and have you ever sanded and repainted a composition doll head or body?
yes it was a lot of work on her wig. But boy what a wig to work with!😮 No I don’t just dip the shoe’s because it would be just too much oil for the shoe material to deal with. Which could possibly cause problems. Yes we have sanded and repainted composition heads and bodies on quite a few composition dolls. I really like compo. dolls but it takes both Chantae’s skills and mine to do a good restoration. On this one my husband helped some as well.❤️
@@DIYDollArtist thanks for the answers. I have a Kewpie composition doll that was also my mom's but I am not brave enough to sand and paint. I will try the oil pastels though on the crazing. Good tip
Just a heads up on oil. Use mineral oil or petroleum jelly as vegtable oils eventually go rancid and give off a foul odor. I very much like that you are not peeling and totally repainting dolls that can be conserved like the big Shirley Temple.
thank you very much for information. people have told me to use linseed oil . which I can’t and others say olive beaks down in flavor but can still be used for many things. well your mineral oil sounds great I won’t be allergic to that. I started using olive oil for many things years and years ago because of my allergies. so when brittle shoes needed to be oiled that’s what I used. I guess I’m lucky my house and more doesn’t stink .I use it on my face too. can’t use creams.I will take your advice and use mineral oil for the shoes. I did mention that other's use linseed oil and that people should use what they felt was best.I will mention what you said on a video so people can choose what they will so thanks again.❤️😘
@@DIYDollArtist Museum conservationists no longer use linseed oil because they found in 50 years or more it can darken and turn items black or dark in color.
@@DIYDollArtist THis is months old but I would also like to let you know as an artist who works with linseed in paints and things- cloth impregnated with it can um spontaneously combust.... Dear me. Mineral oil is great for your hands and certainly much safer and more stable!
@@lorrainemunoa791 thank you for the information that is good to know. I do not use linseed oil and never have. Some other people mentioned they would use mineral oil , but at this point I have had great success with olive oil. Some people say it will break down eventually and some say it won’t, I am sensitive to most oils and chemicals so I try to stick with the natural things.🥰

Do know how to remove the glue from the sides of a mohair wig?
is the glue on the side of the dolls face buy the wig or directly on the mohair?🥰
is the glue on the dolls head and or face by the wig or is the glue on the mohair itself?
Both the side of the face and some in the mohair
