also it really looks like he heals more hp than other character in heat mode, truly soulstealer now
My wishlist was for Yoshi to have his soulcalibur move and now he got it. Also the sword sound design is so nice.

It takes 9 minutes to just show the movesets!!! love it. Can't wait to see so many patterns and mind games from pro yoshi players.

Loving the new moves! These will really help the juggle potential and wall carry. My only grip is that we need new moves and updates to Meditation stance (3+4) and Pogo stance (D1+2). Give 3+4 a scary low or an unblockable high, give any reason to duck for the 3 setup. Id also give D1+2 a few more attacks like that DGF F1+2. Or my favorite, the bad breath unblockable from SFxT. We need some overhauls on some of the lesser used stances!
checking out in t7, it seems like most of the simplified moves grant faster frame (2-3 frames) when executed in the old fashion. i also like how it seems like a lot of moves transition into NSS now

I play Yoshi in Soulcalibur VI and this looks like I would be right at home playing him in T8. Inputs are all different but with a little memorization I'm sure it wouldn't take long to get used to it.
Yoshi in Soul Calibur was always way cooler and I say this as someone who plays way more Tekken.

Thanks for confirming for us that probably the best grab in Tekken's history does not make a return. That side-grab from Tekken 3 was absolutely insane, and it'd be so cool if it came back. But nope, still replaced by a generic running bulldog.

1:38 I just played my first online match today of tekken 8. I was checking his accessories and customization and saw that he has the hihiirokane sword from soul calibur 4 As one of his weapon options. They have truly merged soul calibur and tekken yoshimitsu together on this one
im creaming myself over this, his animation looks so good, although as someone who always go into no-sword stance a lot in tekken 7, this will take a lot of time to get used to

After a slow motion rewatch, fff3 into dragonfly sounds fun and should be pretty strong on block. Does Yoshi’s Heat buff the damage of sword attacks in any way or is it all visual?
Hopefully his new f1+2 has similar properties to the old one. That was such a good move.
F4 is way better as a power crush, nice change….. so with flea no longer being tied to powercrush, I wonder if he get his old flash sets up back 🤔

Using grab as a sword stab command is going to feel awkward…. Hope that new ub1+2 move makes it worth the change

Yoshi’s new NSS transition looks like it low crushes but he stands back up. I wonder if that could lead to some hard read set ups 🤔
Still can’t tell if Yoshi’s caught too many nerfs, but he does have some interesting/fun looking changes overall

I reeeeally hope that Soul Possession when broken should take away life, so it's a mixup with Soul Siphon of whether or not you break it lol
Its so unfortunate they didnt do it. And i somehow feel like they wont. They could even add a small giveaway like a sound or a slighty different animation to make it less "unfair" but it would be such a cool throw
He looks and sounds so damn cool in this one. Such a dramatic improvement over the T7 design. This might be the first Tekken preorder I will be seriously considering along with the other character designs like Victor as well.
Guys, this is my T7 main and he will be my day 1 T8 main. If he turns out to be OP out of gate, then I have this comment as a receipt that I chose him before finding out how viable he is.

Maybe I am underestimating the new moves, but I just keeping seeing constant nerfs. It is going to be quite the change from T7, which is exciting but hard to really visualize until I can see how the moves fit together.

Yoshi's 10 hit combo on T7 was 3, but on T6 it was 6.
Devil Jin has only 1 on T7 it was 2 but on T6 it was 7
So db1,1 is gone now? The safe m,m wallsplat? I was worried we loose df 1+2 bc rage art (like we lost the old oni fist b1+2 because of b1+2 rage art..) but losing db1 makes me even more sad since i used it much more than df1+2

I can't believe they reused the rainbow drop animation. Look at the opponents stance at the beginning, that's the same animation as Tekken 1 and 2. Some cool looking stuff but with all the stuff everyone else has gotten i would have thought an update to a 30 year old animation would be warranted for him

It was a STRONG and round fundamental tool. That pretty much went against the soul of the character imo, he's supposed to be "Situational, the character".

1:09 "kagekiyo" was one his swords from soul calibur 4. Interesting. That was the strongest yoshimitsu in the soul calibur universe. IMO. Oh so this is the move he does when he manually activates the heat system
Goes deeper than that. "Kagekiyo" is likely a reference to Taira No Kagekiyo, a historical samurai. Namco made a video game about him in the 80s called Genpei Tomaden, where Kagekiyo is portrayed as a vengeful ghost. Seems they like to reference the character a lot through Yoshimitsu. In Tekken 6, Yoshi could flat out be customized to look like him. Even his outfit here looks like it takes inspiration from Kagekiyo's design in Genpei Tomaden.

@@chimakalu41 Yeah, that's what I was getting at in the previous comment. That the Kagekiyo sword Yoshimitsu has in the Soul Calibur games is likely part of that referencing Namco is doing. Sorry if it came off like I was correcting you or something. I actually thought it was cool you took interest in the name of that move. I did too. :)
