They are in a pretty good place. The CP cost of Rapid Ingress + Invisible Hunter is probably too high to spam this strategy
Don’t buy one. First: they are trash. 145 pts for D3 mortals? Second: just print one.
This is why I get just about any unit I can get for cheap.

Played 3 last week in vanguard vs sisters. They performed well, though you have to conceed you sometimes just have to leave one in reserve for lack of space. One of the better distraction carnifexes!
I think 9 times out of 10 your opponent is going to rapid ingress and then invisible hunters them out. Its a heavy CP burden unless you can get them close to a hive tyrant in which case it can get a lot cheaper.
Thats why i bring a swarmlord
For Mawlocs I think it's Swarmlord > Hive Tyrant. I'd take a guaranteed hiding CP generator over a situational aura buffer any day, for the CP-hungry Mawloc shenanigans.
Off topic, but I feel like the trigon is better in crusher stampede. If it has the 3" DS that ai remember, that can swing an objective outright.
I always loved mawlocs. Always ran 1 or 2 as distraction carnifexes...to buy time for my carnivores to get into melee lol
Considering Tyranids don't get GRENADES or TANK SHOCK, like most other armies, let's hope this doesn't get nerfed.
Would be great if the true killer was all the Carnifexes....without being nerf XD
I wish they hadn't made the range for the terror of the deep weird. it seems more thematic to allow it to burrow in next to troops and cause more damage the closer the impact.
I'd legit prefer it was a 3" deepstrike with a 6" aura than what it is now, yeah. 12" aura is absolutely stupid

In many cases i fail to see how it would be beneficial to use seeded brood on 2 mawlocs. I mean those 2 mawlocs are surely, 100% going to die afterwards? The entire enemy army will be stareing down at them

Im pretty sure players will adapt. They can really shaft 1hp msu and pre-damage vehicles. But they have to be close, and people will get better at catching them. 😅
They also will get a point increase next mfm. So enjoy while it lasts.😊

I always assume i am fighting against infiltrated infiltrators accompanied by phobos librarian and they can retreat from any assaults. The unit disables all deepstrike tricks and is almost impossible to kill.
The way you beat em is SOOO simple..

Question about the new Synapse rule. When i attache a Neuroloid onto a Screamer killer and he´s within 6 inch of an enemy, does he suffer the additional -1 from Synapse during shadows in the Warp?
Because as i read it, the Screamer Killer has Synapse only to himself, not friendly units around him. So i don´t see him emitting it during Shadows of the Warp, but i m not sure.
I agree the head is ugly. I modified mine so it doesn't have all the spines and it looks much better imo. I don't think the GW paint job does the model any favours either.
You are right about the neuroloid. The screamer counts as being in synapse range, but doesn't spread it to other models.
The Screamer-Killer doesn't get the SYNAPSE keyword from Neurotyrants so it has no effect on enemy SitW tests.
Trigons look cooler tho
Mawlocs don't explode.
