I just watched a heat between two guys called JJF and G. Medina. This guy has twice as much talent and style as the previous two combined. Why had I never heard of him? He makes it look so easy. Are you f***ing kidding me with those lay-backs?
I think free surfing made clay a bit less progressive compared to his peers on the CT in these last few years. He just hasn't added more to his aerial game for a long time. But the stuff he does I haven't seen anyone do any better or with better style or power. And he's probably the best tube rider in the world.
Not a fan of his controlled layback wipeout manoeuvre. That's gotta be the least aesthetic move in surfing. Reminds me of the 'contrived air' (ARS) in bodyboarding.
