I see Cam Wurf and a click. What a guy and you can tell by the things he's saying, he's feeling competitive. Wouldn't surprise me if he has a very good day.
Cam all in on the World Championships has been what I've wanted to see for a long time. I think him, and Joe Skipper have always been guilty of racing too hard too close to Kona - you notice, you never see Frodo racing a lot or close to big races, the other pros should look to the GOAT for how to lead into the big races! Lange is another one who done perfect seasons building up to and not peaking before until his big wins. I'm calling Cam for a podium but my heart and mind sees big Jan on the top spot.
He wasn’t cocky last year either. Unfortunetly he was coming down with Covid. Also, even though he’d done the work in august and September you could kinda tell from his strava feed - and comments on his blog - that he was already toast going into his Kona block. This year the team have actually sat down and planned his year with him, instead of randomly throwing him into races as needed (except for Roubaix, which was a last minute thing). He also didn’t do a big ironman training block in LA in January and slowly built his base through his spring pro cycling commitments. All meaning he has built form and started his WC prep build pretty fresh off a one week holiday after Ironman France & you can tell he is coming into a peak. He’s demonstrably faster swimmer this year so will likely be a few minutes ahead of Joe and Leon and with Magnus out of the water. His running training is instructive: weekly double speed days - 5 x 8minutes at 3:30 pace in the morning; 8 x 1km at 3:15 pace in the afternoon. This is a significant shift in pace from last year (ie. about 10-15 seconds per km faster). He’s also doing brick sessions with Hayden Wilde with the run segment being 5 to 10 km at 3:45km pace x 3 reps. Again a shift forward from last year. Notably, he’d done ALL the work before doing his last pro cycle race block a couple of weeks ago and finished that strongly. Cam’s last week’s 20km/400km/100km block after the Renewi Tour looked like clockwork. So a not sick or fatigued Cam is very very likely to figure prominently amongst the racers on Sunday!
Cam has really calmed down his personality, dare I say it, he was very much like Laidlow when he splashed onto the tri scene (or more like Laidlow was like Cam), which is both a shame for entertainment purposes but a true sign of maturity and maybe that will show in his performance on Sunday!
Wurf talks. And talks. Jan can’t stand him. I didn’t take a liking either Then Dan bigham talks about Ineos and wurf. He says v good morale training there in girona by Ineos, and that the key to that good Ineos girona training is wurf. I am warming up to him after listening to bigham.
I didn’t care for Cam. He talks and talks and really hadn’t done much in the sport. Big ego along w mouth, I had thought. Jan couldn’t stand him as well Then I saw an interview of Dan bigham. Dan spent some time in Andorra w Ineos. Bigham says that in Andorra for Ineos cam is the key, cam gets the team in Andorra organized and keep the racers going and pumped up. The team spirit leader there. And my view of him thus has changed. Way to go Cam
Love Cam… wish the field was stronger this year. I dunno, it ‘feels’ like this race has little to no excitement so far.. it’s race week of the world champs and quality content is hard to find. 🧐
Agree. The content so far is the bare minimum. There should be countless amounts of videos/articles/pods all of race week! Not just the last couple of days.
Even in retrospect, this will be the grand daddy of them all though. Trying to hype it would give it the "look at me too" feel. When the dust has settled on this season, this will be the one you wanted to see.
Cam and Joe smashing it up in the last 5km would make my day. What an inspirational fella!
Absolutely

He said he has it won. No one can beat him in this field. He’s unstoppable and the greatest athlete who’s ever lived.
Cam, I love your humor and realistic take on the race.
Gotta click on an interview with Cam. Dudes a pleasure to listen to
Cam is such an easy and entertaining interview.
Cam, you are great. I love listening to your interviews. GOOD LUCK.
Cam well said at 17:44 the heat and humidity is no joke. I experienced this first hand at IRONMAN Nice in June.

Big Jan is out... No need to take page from his books of injury history. But sure, he is either very fit or very very fucked
Such a cool guy Cam Wurf
Cam is always a fantastic untertainer, on the road as well as in a studio
Cam is one of my favorite humans!
Fantastic interview 👍
Thank you
Least cocky Cam has ever been on Breakfast With Bob before a world champs… I have a feeling he will be dangerous this year.

Good luck cam!
Looking forward to see Cam rocking it…
No way you don't like him!
Kona exposes the over-bikers when on the run. Nice should do it on the bike. Cool change.
goooo cammmmmm

I hope Cam does good here. This bike course can only mean good things for him.
Staying for some Rugby World Cup games Bob?
You know it!

no lionel. no talbot. that's why
yes, even Lahti 70.3 worlds were more hyped, but i learned it was due to efforts from ironman europe, not the mothership.

Be an Uber biker...thats the only way you will win...and you better come off the bike with a large lead
Drug addicts shouldn't get the Mic...having team dope squad members compete in triathlon taints the sport
Speculation
That was unbearable. 'You know. You know. You know.'
