@@a-man3179 From what I can tell it isn't too different, think early Power Metal and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, both are very melodic and epic, but one is more rooted in tradition than the other, Epic Doom is very close to the traditional doom of Black Sabbath or Saint Vitus, Melodic doom has more modern influences.
Doom is some of my favorite music! They are only 3 Subgenres that dont click for me, those being Death-Doom (I love death, and I love doom, but I just dont feel it when the come together), Funeral Doom (too slow, doesnt keep my interest for some reason) and Atmospheric Sludge (I love sludge metal but AS just never clicked for me).
